It's Rob Zombie!!!
Err, maybe not.
Anyway, looks good, but there are a few perspective issues... His horns seem to be way out of alignment with the rest of his face. Same deal with the part in his hair, and the hair on the left side of his head (his left). The part should probably slope farther to our left, and the horn and his hair should probably be moved down a bit.
His face also seems to be slanted forward a bit too much towards his chin, though that might have been intentional.
Otherwise, good job with the coloring + details. He sure does look creepy. |

Good amount of texture in this piece. The ears could be a bit smoother. Overall I think it is great. Those are some penetrating eyes! yikes! |

Okay - I'm really diggin' this style you are working in. I also enjoyed the Pilate pic too.
This reminds me of the Poison Elves comic, kind of what it would look like as a live action film concept. Very good! Nice details, especially on all the furry bits! |

Looks damn good, I like the beard. But I do think that his nose is kind of fat for an elf... the only really "elfish" thing about him is the ears. |

Once again you show off your talent, Good show on the skin (as usual) ...The long hair, robe-ish clothing, and lowered head really add a sinister feeling to this character ----it's grand how you got a little creative in adding a scar on the redo--- you definitely have superior control over how you paint. Oh yeah, (once again) I think I should win the "Seventh Angel" contest because DAMMIT!!!! I love this stuff
*I feel a spirit!* (a gothic spirit =) |

hey yaz, nice detail work, good character. a lot of potential for stories (the big scar etc).
but when i close one eye and squint with the other, he still doesnt come alive. i think it's gotta do something with the shape of the head and the placement and angle of the head's key features. it's distinctive, i noticed the same kind of skewing with my own pics so i know the problem - but not the solution. looks somehow flat.
i think you should take the minute to open the pic in photoshop and quickly make a circle over his skull's shape and try to see where the eyes, nose, mouth should go cause right now something is wrong. maybe the shape of the skull makes it impossible to make it a totally convincing "real" portrait. i dont know
anyway, beautiful, a bit rough but very detailed rendition.
oh, and i've noticed that the venes on one's forehead have the shape of an upside down peace symbol (without a circle around them of course ) - if that's what you meant, shardik |

Very cool pic. I love the detail.
It looks more like an evil half elf tainted with human blood due to the beard, nose and skin color. But after all there are no rules in fantasy.
Keep up the great work! |

There I officially made the change in the title...previously calling him a Dark Elf, what must have I been thinking!!! He's actually a half human (on his fathers side, for those who were wondering- it happened in a tavern, one night stand type thing), that's where he gets the human traits...Happy now people??? It's called Fantasy!!! I like doing something new once in a while. Hehehe. |

Waylon: I took out his horns, they bothered a lot of ppl including me.
Pixualize: You made my day with your comment! I would love to do character portraits for movies. Gotta keep on working at it until I get there!
Lateralus: I made his noze a bit thinner and I added a nasty scar on his lip. Battle scars.
Bibbe: I will keep that in mind! But what if there was one elf, a hybrid nasty evil elf that was part human and part elf? Would he be allowed to have a beard
To everyone else: Thank you very much for your support, now that I got the hang of this digital art thing (hehe) I am going to be producing more elaborate and detailed work. From my past posts, I noticed that my pen and ink work doesn't go too well in this forum. I know I know, this forum is more for digital work... |
