dwarves filled my sketch book for about a week recently. For some reason the lead I was using was too soft and these didn't really work out as I had planed. I get way to touchy over materials=P. I'm starting to like working in pencil rather than pen these days. more control.

I did this as a quick try out for dragon skin, I don't think it works very well. I'll do better next time, promise^_^

these are some front and side shots I made up for a 3D head that's in progress atm.

ayynd that's about it for now^_^

I'm on my way to the bathtub, but I just have to post a reply here before I go...

Hoooooo boy, I wish I sketched more! These are really great - you bring a lot of life to your characters!

I also love how you colour things - great sense of /almost/ monochrome palettes.

I actually rather like the dragon!

I'm not so thrilled with his sagging throat pouch, though... he looks a bit, well, plump around the gills.

You are improving fast!
Very nice pencil work, and you have some nice values in your colour work.
I think your sketches have a lot of character and potential. I'd love to see some more of them painted

Amazing Rinaldo.

Although I may not be the one you want to hear this from, I think it would be to your benifit to experiment with stronger light sources. therefore you can get in some darker colors and lighter colors adding more depth, realism, and dynamics to your charachter (Hopefully)

Your sketches are all nice and tidy as well... I barely see any construction lines! It either that... or your eraser found its way to the paper

EviLToYLeT-I couldn't agree more about the lack of contrast in the coloured pic on this page. I was more interested in the texture for the dragon. and with the monotone colouring at the top, it was just a real quick sepperating/defining of the forms and shapes. neither are looking at all "lit" unfortunatly. I'm going to be addressing this a lot more in the future.

hehe, is this any better^_^ just a quickie

S4Sb-glad to be of service

Cos- hey man. Aaahhhh, yes, the web page...right....ok...soon...I promise..*that's what they all say I know* =(
hopefully this time my words will ring true.

Rinaldo, you're frighteningly good! Wow. I've got really no crits at all. Love the pencil-sketches (what a nice pencil-stroke style you have!) and the illustrations are superb too!

Great (as always) Rinaldo!

Dwarves are a great theme, and I think you captured their personality in a perfect way.
