I don't know if you guys remember "The Neverhood" it was a game put out by Microsoft I think. Well anyway it was the coolest game I've ever played and it's soundtrack was awesome too. Ok so here is a picture I did in about 45 min that was inspired by the game. Also a little bit inspired by synj.

comments? Crits?

hoorah for claymation. I have a short walking animation I made of klayman once, but I had to stop when the arm fell off

I'm guessing you were inspired by the eyes, heh.

The game was published by Dreamworks and had a sequel of sort on Playstation called 'Skullmonkeys'. The 2 games were designed and made by the very cool but very dead company The Neverhood. There is still a website though at www.neverhood.com

Loki - Yeah I was checking out one of spoonge demon's paintings the other day and I noticed that there was a strong texture in the bottom layer of his paintings and the only way I could figure out how he was doing it was with custom brushes. That of course hides the sampling rate! It's brilliant!

S4Sb - Yeah the brown thing was supposed to be a sort of cloak thing I put on there at the last minute to add to the color and compostition, I didn't add any real texture to it because I got off track.

RoadMaster - I'd love to see that? Did you use the sketches they had on the site a while back?

Blackfish - Yeah I use to know all that but somebody borrowed my copy of the game and then after I noticed they stopped updating the site I sort of lost intrest, but I still have a bunch of their concept sketches on my wall that I printed out.

Thanks to everyone else for replying!

Ha! That's a cool one! Nice painterly style too - and you were worrying about custom brushes? Not anymore I see!
