I don't what drew me to batgirl, I never have purchased any comics with her in it. Nor have I ever found her as appealing a super-hero as batman. I guess I just wanted to draw her in a way that I found more interesting. I hope you like.
(edit) I adjusted that building a bit. Maybe it looks better now.

A backpack under the cape! That makes more sense than a utility belt. Excellent picture 44.

As always, the girl is cute and her gear is stunning of realism...
Your habit of drawing mostly girls is very similar to a french illustrator, very famous among the french role-playing-game community named Bruno bellamy. He has drawn through years a whole bunch of Bellaminettes. If you want to take a look at his work...

hehe, nice one Agent
very cool
don't know if you've answered this before, but what method do you use to knock out your lines? (making them a colour other than black). just wondering. I've worked out ways to do it myself, but another perspective is always of value ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

as always Agent I love your style.
your perspective isn't correct in the buildings, that's my only comment. I don't have the time to elaborate but I will come back and do so if you want, but great style in the character, keep it up!!!

i love this style that you're doing. the girl flying, astroid girl, they have such poise and balance. i love the goggles and straps especially on this one.
do you have the lines on this for me to color? just if you feel like it.

That is obscenely cool. I am jealous.
You're right, too; Batgirl was a pretty dull character. But this more utilitarian style you gave her is way more interesting than the Batman clone she was in the comics... |

Cool stuff agent. I take it you don't read comics anymore, because the new Batgirl is pretty damn cool. She is an ex-assassin who could kick the crap out of Batman... only instead of learning to talk and write she was taught to interpret body language. So she can tell what people are about to do by their movements. Pretty neat concept. Plus she has a cool outfit. |

That's the way she SHOULD look like in the comics, and cartoon! Come on, how does batgirl, batman, and robin REALLY fit all that junk into one belt? They don't, they have a backback full of goodies hidden by a cape! Well Done!

That looks great. Your style is so sweet. I must agree that the background does need work, but you already know that. Other than that, keep it the way it is

dude, seriously you friggin rock. dude!
and in my quite voice.... i love the youthful but time-worn look. the ir glass are a nice touch. overall you have a very nice balance between anatomical accuracy and artistic style (licence). i'd be very interested in seeing your pre-inking sketches to see how you put down your pose and lay out your work, but regardless, you continue to suprise me with each piece you produce while maitaining a distinct style. |

Very nice. good take the character.
I wonder if the hair is too graphic for the realism shown in the gear - but it's a keeper...
thanks!

I fixed the back ground a bit. thanks for pointing that out everyone.
marc_taro - good point, I thought that too, but did it anyway.
Holly Jolly - I'm glad you feel the same.

her face is cute.
and drawing in the whole is great.
But wat makes her ugly is the loose and wrinkled clothes, makes her look loose and wrinkled too. And the looseness around her waist makes her look reallllly thin, which also makes her boobs look like they're sagging. |

Agent- heh, I don't think there's any real easy way to knock out the lines. I set the lineart layer to preserve transperancy so that you can paint with whatever colour you want on it and only the lines will be effected. I like doing it this way because using a paintbrush is a lot faster and more fun than selection.
If you use the pencil tool with no opacity to paint in the lines you can select the different colours with a wand set to 0 tolerance for a clean selection, you could then use that selcetion to cut it out of the lines layer (or create a layermask for the lines layer and use the selection to mask that part out) then make a new layer and fill. sepperating the sepperate parts with different colours onto different layers making it easier and faster to play with some gradients or alt+backspace fills.
Blah, that made little sense I think, but ehh.
I only ever make lots of layers if I think I will need to change the line colours a lot and the drawing is complex enough to make it annoying selecting the different parts off the same line layer just to change the colour a little bit, also, if I need to put a gradient in, I need that bit of line art on sepperate layer set to preserve transperancy so that I can use the gradient tool without it destroying future selections.
I delete, or mask off lines that are underneath each other becuase normaly I don't have pure B+W lines and the grey bits at the edges will effect the colour underneath. keeps it clean, and if you do it properly it doesn't take that much extra time.
heh, that's probably not all that much faster than selecting and filling I suppose.

Chapel- I think I've seen the new Batgirl- does her costume not have eyes, or something weird like that?

CaptainCool- I'm not sure if I see the problem. One hand is in a fist and the other is grabbing the edge.
Snake Grunger- yeah, theyre pretty much the same character
Al_kgs- thanks for that link
Rinaldo- I breifly talked about this in my last post. Basically, I select the lines and then fill or paint the color I want. How do you do it?
General Confusion- yeah, I didn't pay to much attention to the background, kinda rushed it.
canistr-thanks, here you go. it's pretty big lineart
Chapel- actually, I try to go to the comic shop every other week. I don't usually buy some of the mainstream comics. Now that you mention it I remember seeing her. I didn't know the background. very cool.
thanks everyone for your thoughts.
(edit)changed the link.

agent44, sweet as always.
Does that building behind Batgirl look out of perspective to anyone? Based on the vertical lines of the building she's on, the background buildings directly behind her and to the right seem to be leaning forward a considerable amount.
I think it's a testiment to how cool the character is that I didn't even notice this until I decided to take a closer look at the looser rendering style in the background.

I know jealousy is a bad thing...but DAMN!!!
But I have to agree about the perspective, it looks like the building in the background is imitating the tower in Pisa... |
