Okay, so, I lied; It's a hot chick and her boyfriend that I did a portrait of for their anniversary. :P I'm so pathetic. Anyway... Done in PS 5.5 -- Photo reference (two 1x1.5" "photo-booth" photos), approx. working time 6 hours... Enjoy...

Very cool Vis... I LOVE the guy's glasses, they turned out really cool. I can never get my lines that sharp

That is damn good... I don't know how you can make something so realisic by using pretty much just three colors... black white and gray. I like the style

Yikes, this is REALLY good, Visigoth! Probably one of my favorites of yours =)

Like others have said before me - his glasses are really good. I also love the expression on her face. Very stylistic piece - I could never create so much with so few colours

Thanks guys... If you want I'll post the photo reference... -- Some other notes on this piece... Resolution is around 8x9" @ 300dpi, (2500x3200...? dunno) -- I used the paintbrush, smudge, and eraser tools...

Enayla; Thanks...That means alot to me, coming from an artist of your caliber...hee hee

mellowsmoothe; Believe it or not, I can't draw hair -- I was suprised incredibly by the way his hair turned out... I decided to try something different -- I took the middle-sized circular brush, put opacity @ 100, left size and opacity checked, and started making hard, deliberate strokes -- Funny thing is, it turned out looking exactly how I wanted it...hahaha

I like this alot more than your previous stuff, not to say the other is bad or anything. Just like this much better. Keep going in this direction. Really like the way you dealt with the glasses. cool stuff.

nice job visigoth, heh I tried doing a drawing that style (two shade of my hand) for my life drawing homework, and the teacher dismissed it as being "too cartoony" heh oh well, great work on the glasses, and the guy's eyes, shows people you don't just know how to do two shades

one tiny crit though, it seems to me that her face is very flat looking compared to his, kind of draws the eye away from the chick ... make of it what you will

pretty soon everyon'll have a chance to crit all my stuff, as I'll be posting it in one giant thread...

Nice Vis.
The only thing I would suggest, and it's probably just me, but maybe a shade of gray for the backround to offset their faces.

Nice use of ol' high key contrast(I think that is what its called). Kinda reminds me of an exercise we had to do in college using only black acrylic and gesso.

Very cool.

I've always loved your work, visigoth.

One thing: The girl's pupil between the arm of the glasses and the lenses is a bit distracting. It looks.. weird.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions guys...They're much appreciated...

Fallen; Yeah, I thought about that, and I actually did another version that had the grey background -- for some reason it looked "off"...and I decided not to use it...

Impaler; The photos that I worked from, were extremely small -- even smaller than wallet-sized... In those photos, you can't see her pupil either...It's obscured in shadow. When I scanned them in and increased the contrast for use as reference, the shadow became much lighter as you see it there... (but yeah, it DOES look funny ;P~)

Really nice... cool use of monochrome. I would like to try this one day..

that eye needs fixing... and maybe his eyebrows.

Other than that there seems to be a little round 'blotch' fairly well hiden and faded, on his shirt directly below his nose in the black area of his shirt. intentional? if not you need to fill it with black. It might jus be my Gamma sttings but chek it out for yourself anyway.
