I was away for a youth conference, and while we were there we stoped by west edmonton mall (the biggest mall in Canada). I got really bored really fast, but since we were staying there for 4 freakin hours i sat down and drew. There was some guy playing some mediteranean guitar music, it was really nice. I was sitting on the edge of a fountain and started to draw my favorite part of the mall (I got a nice compliment from a cowboy and his wife).
Hope you guys like it. I came home and colored it on the computer. The sketch is black ball point, and i left my travel sketchbook in the frame so you can see part of it.

Well... at first I thought you were a talentless jerk, from your response to my
post. But I'll admit, (even though my ego has a hard time letting me do so)that this
is a really good drawing, you definitely have talent, and I hope you go far.

hey, nice pic!
the perspective lines look a little askew here and there, but aside that a very nice drawing indeed. plus I think it makes the pic even better, so no offense intended

hey, I've been there. Too bad you didn't have time to go on the water slides wheeeeeeee! hehe...Man that was ten years ago. geez I'm getting old. I think I recognize that corridor.

Very cool Isric, the Photoshop version is very nice, I think its a sellable style...worth framing...maybe with a different subject, but very nice indeed

I thought it would be fun to have this pic compared to the original concept drawings for that large mall. They would look neat side by side and probably very similar!

SWEET YORUK!

I read you got into that school man, good goin'! I don't think anyone on this forum doubted you could get into any you wanted to, but still, right on.

I've never been to the mall, err that one, I got kicked out of the local big one here, but never that one. Looks kinda cool. Judgeing from your picture.

yeah, it's just about the most boring place I've been to in my life....aside from saskatchewan in general. It gave me a qood chance to draw though. Hard to believe that the biggest mall in the world is also the saddest.

Nice sketch and color. Captures the area perfectly, and as I live in Edmonton, I know the mall well. We simply refer to it as 'The Mall'. The one in Minnesota is built and owned by the same guys but is a more vertical than WEM is horizontal. However, we also try to avoid it when we can and only frequent the theaters, hotel every now and then, and food courts. There's some neat things there, but also some sad 'touristy' things too. The large movie theatre has a super large fire-breathing dragon with 'freekin laser beams' shooting out of his eyes, new Imax theatre adn giant 20 foot Yoda, Kong and Batman. BTW...I sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you didn't receive it. Keep up the great art. I enjoy it.
