[Kreuze]

Okay I've decided to post some sketches of from my sketchbook, maybe some people might find them interesting. (I find it interesting looking at what other people on here sketch)

I find these are fun and relaxing, just drawing and not caring about perspective, skewing, anatomy, etc.. On more finished drawings I spend a lot more time trying to work things out, and hopefully they turn out techinically better.

Most of these took about an hour, depending on what else I was doing at the time.

A Barbarian attacking.

A forest creature. It likes to pray on unwary travelers.

A handler leading a stubborn war beast.

On the Astral plain, a small creature chews the beard of a meditating monk.

A dragon. (hailing a flying taxi maybe?)

A sea dragon, hoping for some ships to attack.

This dragon is a baseball pitcher... well I guess not.

Hmm... I'll let you decide the story for this one.

As you stated you weren't worrying about perspective and antatomy, but those are the major things that ditract from the images. Instead of spending and hour on each, spend 20min and sketch as if you had 2min.

Something that I like to do before I draw is stick figures to get the basic perportions down. Then I work my way around adding details bit by bit.

Another thing I noticed is you like to smudge with your pencils. (While not a fan of this type of shadding) I would suggest making the darkers dark, and the lighters light.

These were mostly done as something to do while watching Conan O'Brien before I went to bed, so hopefully I didn't embarass myself too much by posting them

Jucas: Doing more quicker images would definitely improve my drawings, and it's something I keep meaning to do.
One thing about rougher sketchy images though is that you can get away with a lot more anatomy and perspective problems, something maybe I should have used to my advantage here . On longer drawings I do like to draw out 3d cylinder people and creatures and go from there. The absence of darks is mostly because it takes me a while to build them up.

Roundeye: Thx. The emphasis really was on doing something kinda interesting and relaxing here rather than strict technical work. BTW, I remember your last thread (still up near the top I think) and that's a really sweet drawing.
