ermmm... it's really not good form to make characters so derivative of someone else's work and then just give them a new name. In fact if you did that professionally you could get sued. Credit for the 'ANOO's' goes to anticz

a lot of people have been treating you hostilely and I think it's because you show a lot of lapses in understanding what artistic integrity is. make an effort or they're going to run you out of here.

Not to mention the fact that you posted the exact same picture in the WIP forum yesterday. If you aren't going to make any changes, don't waste people's time with a new thread.

The first ones reminf me of those oddworld guys for some reason, but they're good. And there hands are just like Mewtwo's, but you don't watch Pokemon like me, so of course you would know. The girl with the so called long arm, isn't long! Okay, stand up, and put you arm next to your side, you finger tips should almost reach your knee. True hers are A BIT longer, but it doesn't matter since it appears like you were trying to make a more cartoon like character. |

what the hell are you talking about you freak the chick looks nothing like roundeyes.
and the only thing thats even simular to thos guys with the lights for eyes is the head and mine are going to have eyes just not sure what kind yet. man how in the hell do you see anymore simularity freak.
sorry that seemed harsh but man they look nothing alike.
The head thing i admit was inpired by those lights for eyes things but thats about it. And the person that said it reminded them of odd world thats way way more of a simularity that those lights for eyes maybe i will just change there heads. |

I usually don't comment but I just would like to say a few words to everyone that has been posting on Stneil777 work on this post and the others.
stneil777 is a kid...obviously. I just have to look at his work and read his writing to know this. Stneil777 don't take offence to this...we all were kids once. He is in a learning process...not just how to draw..but what to draw....how to think about art and how to interact with other artists. That is a hard thing to do. It takes years of experience...and for those of you that have been posting...not all of you...but some...i don't think you have figured this one out yet.
I admit alot of his pieces look inspired from other work but hell...so do 50% of the other pieces posted on this board. The anime chic in this post that someone compared it to is streching it....if I had a buck for all the big eyed bitches I have seen posted on this board over the past year.
He will get better at this. He just needs to keep at it. That leads me to my last point.
You guys are going to give him a complex. It is easy to rip on someone new to the board that posts a ton of beginner work. You were a beginner once too. Encourage instead of discourage. The point is that he is trying...at least he is sitting at the computer and trying to create with it. He could be out on the street selling drugs and beating up nerds like us. Give him a break. He will get better....in the mean time be big people and try to help him to get better.
stneil777 my advice to you: keep at it. The homer piece was drawn from the other homer piece...so what. I redrew stuff all the time when I was learning. Don't let them make you feel that it is wrong. Redrawing work that you like is all part of the learning experience. Redraw, Redraw, Redraw..once you have had enough of that try to combine pieces. Take homers head and put Marge's body on it. Take artists drawing that you admireand change it enough to make it your own. All is fair when you are learning. If you keep at one day you will start to see stuff on a black page/screen that no one has seen before...you will gain your own vision. You are not a professional yet. Just have fun and do what you like. You are on the right track to gaining your own vision. Keep up the good work.

Hey stneil, look around on the net for some references on drawing form. Or, just practice drawing people out of cylinders and spheres. These lack depth whcih makes things look believable. |

stneil777, is english your first language?
you may want to pay a little more attention to your spelling and grammer, as many of your posts aren't very coherent
and you shouldn't take these coments too seriously. i think much of what you take to be serious attacks are actually just people poking fun |

Thanks for the props guys, but I don't think I want credit for the Anoos. This is all stneil777 doing. They certainly look interesting. Not sure I like the lumpy head though.

Order!! Order!!
you people are ruthless..
I remember I had a freind whos mom could just by looking at something draw a picture of it. so she could look at a card of say XMEN and draw the same card on a peice of paper and to line them up they were almost identical, but she just looked at it and drew it.
I would venture to say that some people are like that. Dont get your panties in a knot just because somebody draws something simalar to something he saw. The guy is learning. You all copied other artists works to learn too. dont tell me you never picked up a spiderman comic to see if you could draw the title page. dont tell me you never traced out a picture that you liked. Its all part of the learning process.
Now I will say, yes, his drawings do look like smudged pictures but when you line them up they dont match. Thats what hes trying to show you.
In conclusion, ladies and not-so-gentlemen, If he is legitimately drawing these things then let him do it and lay off. Give him the crits that all you expect on your work. BUT, Stniel777, if you are just smudging and bluring pictures, then I have no sympathy for you.
Lets finish these stupid and useless flame wars over something that nobody can prove or disprove.
just remember everybody, Stneil777 included, not every persons art is going to appeal to everybody. |

The Anoos remind me of something from "How the Grinch stole Christmas". I like them, keep workin on them.
As for the big eyed chik on the left, I would round her eyes off a bit more, they look a bit blocky... Maybe give her a hair cut too... If you would do that, then she would look very much like my Niece.
I like the inked girl too...

I was always told I was sub-human.
Nah, everyone in here seems ok to me... Except that Faust guy that speaks like a cross between Yoda and the Riddler. j/k

Cool website.
I especially like where you take a button from mac OS X and some stuff from 2advanced.com...that rules man, keep up the good work.
By the way...'the best in webdesign' can get you in trouble for false advertising, especially when there are absolutely zero elements of design demonstrated on that site anywhere.
Sorry, but when you flood the forum with stolen work, you get comments like these.
Oh, and put this stuff in the work in progress section, its okay to post sketches here, so long as they're finished.

awetopsy,
actually if you take that lara croft image he "made" and expand the, uh, "reference thumbnail" to the size of the piece he's claiming as his, they match up 100%. so I don't think you can rightfully say he doesn't copy things.
enjoy.
