Ok, i really do not expect much help from anyone, but i did not come here thinking i would recieve any, so i am not getting my hopes up.
So all those that would like to help.
I have no idea what colors to use.
Any ideas of charater changes would be apprechiated.
If anyone would color one to just give an idea of what colors you would like to see them or just tell me thanx

let me humanely inform you that there are different forums - this one is Gallery/Finished Work one. showcase FINAL images and critique. See it written up above? Images that are in progress or that you have questions about, or sketches and that sort of thing are supposed to be posted in Work In Progress forum. And posts without images go in Digital Art Discussion or Random Musings. And please don't whine because the administrators are trying to clean up your mess. Let me ask you something. Why are you posting here? Is it legitimately to get critiques on your work? Well then, here goes:

Your linework is sloppy. The characters are disproportionate and unbelievable - like something a four year old would draw. When designing characters, you can't just randomly throw together limbs facial features, and hope it looks cool. You need to THINK a bit, and base them off of reality. Furthermore, if you want some serious critiques, you need to spend more than five minutes on a picture. It's impossible to give advice on a pic when there are hundreds of things that YOU, the artist, should see right off the bat that need fixing. Oh, and your coloring is atrocious. Now, on the other hand, if you're NOT here to improve your artwork, then get the fuck out. We vastly outnumber you, and with your professional career as a web designer already at risk due to plagiarism, you'd do well not to piss us off any further.

So, back to the first option. If you seriously want to improve at art, put some damned effort into it and lay low for a while. At this point, NO ONE is going to give you any good advice, other than to get lost.

waylon gave you a legitimate critique (critic and critique are different words, you have many critics but haven't recieved many critiques, try to learn the difference before using them incorrectly).

I tend to agree with waylon on his critique though, your line work is pretty sloppy. I like what you have going with the arms of your characters but I think the proportions and the features should really be worked out a bit better.

There you go, a real critique from one of your real critics.


BTW, below is a definition of heathen from www.dictionary.com. By way of the definition, yes, I am a heathen, for I do not believe in Christianity, Judaism, and the Islamic faith, but I really don't see what my religious belief has to do with anything that we are currently discussing.

That's what I was trying to say (one of the things, anyway.) There are so many simple, basic things that need improvement, it's impossible to give advice on anything else. Clean up your line work. Make the characters more proportionate. What else can anyone say? We can't comment on the composition, because they're characters, not a completed scene. We can't comment on the lighting, because there isn't any. The coloring in the second picture is just really blurry and messy. You NEED to spend more time on your pictures, or we won't be able to say anything.

And yes, lots of other people post unfinished pictures, much like these, in the "finished work" forum. But they don't get many critiques, for the very same reason you aren't getting any.

This advice has been given to you on many occassions.

My advice to you is 2 fold,

1, take the hint and change your login name, lose the Annooo or what you call them and start over as a new person with a new work. Only post one picture at a time to start with. Take what crits you get and exhaust all possible suggestions they give you before posting again. Only post in the correct category. Basically come back as a new person and earn the respect of the people here. The reason you get a hard time is that you don't respect them!!!!! Yeah there is some mud slinging from time to time, but in the end there is still respect. Do this or at some stage the very paitent moderators are going to have to step in.

Advice 2, is really a request personally from me. Lay off the relgious quotes from the bible. please. If it fits specifically to acompany a piece then cool no problem, but if it is being used otherwise it isn't really appropriate here and it does make me angry.

Take the advice man, and do what they have told you before, in the long run it is the only way you are going to gain from this site.

I've been really trying to stay out of this, but...

Neil, I heartily suggest you follow the advice you've been given (over and over and over again) and rejoin under a new name, with a new attitude.

Additionally, you may wish to give some thought to the pictures you post. I find it *highly* unlikely that someone skilled enough to post the pencil portrait of 'your son', would also post something like the 'Anoos' and ask for advice. The differences between the two have little to do with different 'styles', but with basic techniques of the medium. To make it plain, it makes it look like one or the other is not your work.

There are people here of all ability levels. You don't have to be good to get help. But you do have to be honest.

eric i assure you it's all mine. I am very good with portraits because i get to see what to draw. And he is a finished piece not a 5 minute scetch. So for that reason i relocated the anoos to there proper place. Work in process.

I know the best thing to do is let this thread die, but I would like to comment. I am Christian, and it worries me to see another believer not acting in accordance to the scriptures. It is said that when your brother falls out of line, you should be there to help him back up. Please then, listen now and listen well; follow the direction of those offering the good advice of starting under a new name. Nothing but contention is assiociated with your current name, and people will take you more seriously if they see that you are willing to start anew.
