. ..post some recent photography I've done and share it with you guys? I've made a breakthrough and I'm pretty excited, and I want to share that with the lovely sijun kids. I'm asking for permission because some of my work are nudes. We DO have minors here, and even though it's ART, some people might still get offended.

Let me know.

I'm with A.Buttle. In fact, i think you should ditch the non-nudes and break into the pornography ring. Mmm.

Hang on I'll just ask my mum, . . . .

. . . . . well she's not home right now.

My drivers licence says I'm 32. So let's take a little peek. I promise not to tell.

(How the hell do you get naked women to stay still while you take photo's - enquiring minds need to know!!)

EDIT: Probably the better bet would be to contact (e-mail) the god who overlooks the world of Sijun to be completely safe.

People get offended when they feel inferior to your excelled brilliance.

They are confused, Because they don't see what you see; So, since you can envision the beauty, Use your power as a weapon. Treasure it, Offence is a magnificent tool.

Oh, and nudes. Yeah, Put em' up. If anyone considers there to be a problem, I will pee on their roll out insta- flower gardens.

I agree...the nude body is something beautiful (even though it might be a 50 year old obese man it still has its crevases and wrinkles which is completely original and "beautiful" in its own way).

But you might wanna put in the title that it's inappropriate material for those with an immature mind...

[edit] Oh btw, I don't have a fetish for 50 year old obese men...just to get the record straight...

You asked for it(like rabid dogs), now you will get it.

Thanks for the ok, ladies.

I don't think I have to explain these are in good taste with artistic intentions. They speak for themselves.

zero21--There's no secret. You can either 1)pay a professional art model(they are not the same as fashion models. They pose nude on a regular basis, and undeerstand how artists think), or ask girls you know/are dating/met somewhere(mall/resturant/cafe..etc)if they'd like to pose for you. Not all will agree to pose nude, but usually if they are not too shy, and they have seen the quality of your work, they will say yes. Of course, you need to have their trust that you ARE an artist, not just some drooling lech. If they are not comfortable posing nude, beautiful fashion shoots are just as inspiring. Believe me, most women WANT to be captured as being beautiful, whether it's elegance, sensual, cute, sophisticated..etc

Anyways, on with the show.

Remember, these are my copyrighted work, not just pics off the internet to use to paint-over. If you want to use them as reference for your own work, please ASK ME. I don't have to remind you how angry the entire Sijun community gets when people do stupid/inconsidereate things like that. Also remember, the Sijun community is made up of many professional artist/art directors that work in the same fields you do/will work in. They WILL catch you(obviously, I'm saying this to the few bad seeds we have here, not to the rest of you lovely people).

i personally think that the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th ones are the best of the bunch... but on the whole.. they arent very interesting compositions... you could probably get the same feeling from these if she were clothed... the nudity should mean something if it is going to be art and should be reflected in the way that she poses.. and the environment... otherwise these are just pictures of a nude woman... i wish i could have used photoshop in my photo class... did u develop these yourself cus they developed pretty well... or are they digital?

#3 and #5 are gorgeous. #3 is the perfect candid shot... I love how it's slightly fuzzy too. I really like #5 because she looks so comfortable, and the light behind her resembles wings and a halo... like she's an angel Nice shots. Makes me want to take more pictures.

I forgot to mention that the one thing that might make these images look better would be to conceal the hotel room look. I think if some more attention was paid to the environment that some of the pictures would have more impact. For instance, the telephone with the big red button is a little distracting. The blankets on the bed and the curtains are typical hotel room style. Maybe next time bring with you some satin sheets, plain whites blankets, velour throws and a bunch of pillows or other "props". Maybe hide the phone behind the nightstand and put something with a little more impact there. Experimenting with different frabrics might look interesting as well, check out sales at fabric shops for sheer things that the nudes can pose with. A sheer lacey throw in front of a nude posed in front of a bright window can look mighty mysterious

My 2 cents... err, well I guess it's 4 cents counting my other post

Eeek! Ok, 6 cents... hehe. That girl would make a wonderful "outside" model. All those freckles are great. She would look beautiful posed with some sunflowers or something on a really sunny afternoon. Or in sitting in some tall lush green grass that contrasts with her hair.

JoeKool-- I don't have photography on my site because I havn't figured out how to showcase them yet. I don't want to just pile them onto a page.

The girl is not a paid model. Let's just leave it at that.

shardik--I totally understand what you mean. I also like photography that uses the nude figure to express something. BUT, what I'm aiming for is more inclined towards fashion/glamour work, which showcases feminine beauty, clothed OR nude. Also, I didn't photograph her from the point of view of a photographer shooting a paid model. It's much more intimate than that, and when it's that intimate, you don't feel the need to "intellectualize" the moment. It's supposed to have a more "candid" feel. I hope I'm making sense?

The pictures are all taken with the Olympus C3030Z, which is just a high-end consumer grade digital camera. No photography lights or reflectors, just the window and the lamps in the room.

v1510nAry--I'm glad you feel that. They aren't meant to be sexual at all. Don't worry, no one thinks you are a horny teenager, even though all teenagers ARE horny. I think it's wonderful you like her nice skin. She's very self-conscious about her freckles and feels embarrassed by them. Isn't it strange how most people don't know how beautiful they are? I don't mean in a super-model way. Just beautiful in an individual, unique, human way.

Jezebel--#3, titled "HairShoulderHips," is one of mine and the model's favorite as well. I didn't even notice about the "wings" on #5. Happy accident.

I totally agree about the hotel room look. It wasn't really planned. I had my camera with me, and I decided to take some pictures. If it was a planned session, I would've set up the background. But, I could also say it's the "traveling on the road, took some pictures in a hotel" look.

I love your idea about the outside session. I will ask her. I think she has a 60's girl look, and sunflowers would compliment her well. It's such a shame that she hates her freckles. My other friends thinks she looks like a freak with them, calling her "leopard woman," or "rejects from
'The Island of Dr Moreau'" or "the aliens in Alien Nation." They don't know how to appreciate the cuteness and unique quality of a redhead with freckles. Oh well. Different strokes for different folks. I don't exactly have the most sophisticated friends. . ..

I've noticed that just about all of you prefer the sepia toned pieces(except MrPumpernickel). Those were all originally in color, and I turned them into sepia. This makes me wonder if I had turned the other pieces into sepia tone, you guys would like them more?? What it is about the sepia that you like more? the color uniformity of b/w with a warmer tone? Is that it?

BTW, thank you all for the positive comments. I'm actually just a beginner, and don't even have a professional camera. I didn't really start taking pictures until about 3 months ago(even though I've always loved photography, and buys photography books even when I didn't own a camera). I called these breakthroughs because that's exactly what they are. They make me feel more confident about my photography. I really tried to shed that "amateurish" look most photographs taken by the average joe have. Even some photography/camera enthusiasts can't seem to shake that amateurish look. I'm glad my efforts are appreciated here, especially that we have some pretty good photographers here. I will strive to do even better in the future. Thank you all for the encouragement.

I think these photos are great, really.
The girl is beautiful. In fact without those freckles she wouldn't be half beautiful. They make her special to the casual observer and she has a bigger impact. And as with painting, artistic photography seeks impact, doesn't it?

The photos that aren't sepia are too cold, I guess the photos were taken in the morning, because usually it's a bit blue the light in the morning. Also, if you had a reflex camera you could use filters to correct this, as well as your photos will have much more definition. Also I don't know how much control of exposition you have with the digital camera, but some photos are blurred and low-exposition could be the reason.

Anyway, your sense of compositon and capture of the moment are great and it shows =)

[EDIT] My favorite photo is "Thoughts", it's the one where her face is best seen. [/EDIT]

+400 ISO - too much noise
-100 ISO - no noticeable noise, and very sharp

You'll need a lot of light to use a -100 ISO film, but with long exposures you could get good results.
I highly recommend you a reflex camera if you can aford one, it will take your photograph skill to a new step.

i think shes a very lovely lady and like every one else has said. i think the freckles are cute. nothing to be ashamed of.

and now i want to get into photography even more! hehe if only i had money for a camera :\

keep working at it. hope to see more. nude or not...

So how could I get better results in low-light situation with the camera I have?

Well, considering I already plopped down over $1,500 for that camera + lenses/memory cards..etc, I would die of starvation if I purchased an even more expensive one. . ..

I wanted the Cannon EOS D30, which is $3,000 just for the body. . ... ouch. I guess I'll learn as much as I could with the C3030Z, then buy a high-end camera when my experience and skill justify it.
