Hi all,
Just finished a portrait of my favourite Survivor that I was doing to practice my coloured pencil work. If I was doing this digitally I think I would rework the hair and necklace, but there's not much to be done now. I would love some comments on the piece itself, and also....
The original picture seems to get desaturated when I scan it. The colours of this pic are much less rich than the original, but I don't seem to be able to fix it in PS. Anyone have any tips on scanning or resaturating?
Oh, and yes, this is from a photoreference on the Survivor website, lest anyone think I could do this from my head.

Hey that's a good one. I like the play of color on the cheeks. Great lightning. Were you going for a somewhat charicaturic look? |

It's hard to tell, but something is either there that shouldn't be or missing. Elisabeth has a very weird face in the first place, so unless it is done right it will look kind of funny Nice drawing though. The mouth area kind of bugs me for some reason, not sure why. THe upper lip looks odd to me.

Maybe Ctrl-U, adjust hue/saturation would do the trick.
Her hairline seems high, but I have no idea what she looks like so. The eyes really make the image come alive. Nice work.

Thanks for the comments all, I think you're right, the hairline is too high. That's something I might be able to fix. I'll give it a shot this weekend.
Plop--No, I wasn't going for a charicature look...but now I wish I was!
Gux--I tried playing with the saturation, but the scanner didn't seem to pick up the softer flesh tones, so PS had nothing to work with. Those areas were basically white, so I can't adjust them without drastically modifying everything else.
There seems to be a consensus that there's a problem with the mouth...I can kind of see it, but when I look at the reference pic it goes away...see if this helps.
