Love your style Isric. It's like Disney, but far cooler. ( i especially dig the bald dude with the tattoos on his head. )

BASTARD?
Sweet, thanks guys. I'm not a bastard though! Not really. I'd be a bastard if I didn't work to get where I am. But I've been busting my ass since I was 12. |

Awesome stuff Isric, what can i say more
I'm really curious to know what you intend to do with your life?
In my oppinion, with your talent you should go to work in big animation studios.
Your style is more closer to D.W. "Prince of Egipt" characters, than the Disney image.
You are cool.

...and what about that training?
Did you go to classes, read figure drawing books, etc, or are you entirely self taught? |

*inhales*
Here's a small bio on me:
My name is Matthew Rhodes, the oldest of three artistic children. Being the oldest I have always been the trailblazer, art being no exception. I have tried art classes, but have never stayed past the first few lessons. I am self-taught, learning from comic books, pausing disney movies and making quick sketches, and when I could handle that I started drawing from real life and abandoned comic art to learn my OWN style. Since then, I have graduated from High School, done contract illustration, and developed my stuff as far as I can.
Right now, I've quite my 9to5 grocery store job to work %100 in illustration. I'm pounding out the details on a project with an author named Tad Williams (he wrote Otherland) and trying to find more work. I want to be an illustrator full time, devoting my life to it entirely because I have never felt the kind of joy that comes from getting that paycheck and a 'well done' nod.
*bbbrrreeeeeaaatthhhhheee*
*sigh*
And thats it. I have done a few hand drawn animation things, but they've disapeared. I would love to be a character designer. And If there is anyone out there who is looking for someone like me, I'm avaliable.
Hope that answers a few questions! |

Absolutely stunning Isric, I'm blown away!! I think you have always had a great style and charisma in your drawing, and lately they have just gotten better and more solid than ever.
You deserve a beating for the fact that your have just turned 18.
Make very sure to keep an increasing quality like this, and find new ways and new challenges when you start to feel that the skills and style stagnates...-then you will be famous before you've reached 25, I'm sure.

These are fantastico!.
You have a knack for expression, which is a bastard (apparently quite like yourself) of a thing to achieve.
PS Pausing animation prog's.....hmmm good idea. |

You've always been tied for first as my favorite artist on sijun, Isric. (alongside spooge, etc).
Your stuff has a life to it. A living feeling. Very solid, intriguing, and charming.
Good luck with getting a character designing job. You totally deserve it, man.
peace,
