haven't seen any figure drawings on the board in a while -- post yours if you've done any recently! Here's a few recent ones of mine... (these are 15-20 mins each)

I do these while absorbing verbal abuse from art directors on the phone.

Keep in mind that I suck at drawing like this, I cannot make a pretty drawing to save my life, never could. I have started doing them again after joining this forum and in the spirit of working your weakest link. So don't laugh to hard. None are from life, but I think one is from a Mucha painting.

I am trying to think of more apologetic excuses, but I can't do that either.

errrr... here...

I did these a couple of weeks ago in graphics class. They aren't your typical figure drawings...

A girl in my class.

Another girl...

And Markus. He's about to be crash dummy pankake.

Great stuff, I love figure drawing.
Here's a few with different models. Though I've been lazy on the forum and updating my site lately, I'm drawing more than ever. Actually, I got a huge pile of figure drawings from this year allready....-that gives me a good conscience

Have'nt found a place in Oslo yet where we can do longer(15-40 minutes)poses. But i still enjoy doing quick ones.

spooge: they look pretty damn good to me! Lots of life and movement...

Micke and Joachim, you guys never cease to amaze me with what you can do with so few lines--and in such a short period of time!! Just curious: what size are the drawings dimension-wise?

I want to find a class that does short lively poses. At the classes I go to, people always want longer poses, so that's what we do (there's no instructor, so majority rules). There's always a few 1 minute poses at the beginning of the session, but once I get warmed up, they're over!

I am Joe's head.

I am Asaro's head.

Joe was about and hour & a half with a third of that correcting a major proportion error around his mouth. His eyes are too big also, but beyond repair...

Poor Joe.

Joachim: Amazing lines! I am VERY impressed! You too Micke!

Rinaldo: Really nice work too! I wish I would actually go out there and spend the time doing this..

Spooge: Those aren't that bad at all... well, at least, with my limited knowledge and experience on the subject. The general anatomy (and balance in some/most) makes sense...

Well honestly spooge I'm thinkin' that the energy/gesture looseness technique not only applies to your paintings but to your sketches also, alot of the stuff is just suggested and shows an incredible amount of something (lack of better word)
your sketches with that awesome posing, suggestion and structure is worth a 1000 fininshed stylized sketches...hope this makes sense, anyway you don't really like them? cause I think they're amazing

Great stuff! Makes me really want to do this.

I'm starting to do some fast drawings from photos to warm up (5 to 10 minutes), these are the ones that were still on my desktop instead of the trashcan they usually end into. This probably couldn't be considered life drawings, but anyway...

nice stuff everyone. Rinaldo, your figure drawing linework is very nice....keep it that way

justin, the size is A4, but i don't know if that says something for you....? There are different standards in US and Europe so. calculating.... it's 8,2 * 11,6 inches. very regular, not small, not big. I fit one pose on one paper.
