Hi gang,
I've been working as a colorist in the comix biz for a while...looking to expand back into the digital painting realm for a while using Painter.
Here's my first stab at painter, 45 minutes at 1:00 am. Self portrait with mirror
Painting is intentionally out of proportion to give that burnt out 1:00 am feel.
I know the left eye is screwy, but eeh...I'm not really interested in fixing it, more looking to get into the forum and post things as I progress, to give myself a goal if you will.
crits welcome.

( if only every newbie was as cool as that; doesn't start 37 threads on not being able to post images, but actually gets it RIGHT first time around. )
Hey, welcome Red,
I'm not sure if you've been around reading or not, but I think you'll find some good support here, as well as meet some interesting and talented people. =)
Well, that image seems to be a nice caricature, the colors are interesting. Will be looking forward to seeing more of your work.
cheers

Ghi-
uh, let's see..."Captured Bristle' at 70%.
So far I'm not keen on smudging effects inherant to some other tools, being a 10 year Photoshop veteran.
I'll probably move towards the round camelhair, it was my weapon of choice in the "real" world when I "painted" oh, so long ago.
(edited for spelling)

Hi Brian,
Cripes, you post a lot here.
This board is obviously more active than the comic colorists unite...
Looks like a lot of the guys from CCU post here though, so I've been peeking in the window for about a week.... lots of amazing work being shown off... lots of tips and tricks...
I'll have to bust my ass to get some presentable stuff to post. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |
