Here's a quickie...I have the worst flu right now, so I'm not in the mood for drawing nice & pretty.... I was going to put some rats in this image, but they just didn't fit.
Anyway, this is what happens if you use heroin:
------------------
My old man's a dustman
'E wears a dustman's 'at
'E wears gorblimey trousers...
AAAAAAAAND....
'E lives in a council flat!
Hey, I made up a joke:
Q: Why don't goths go to McDonald's?
A: They might get a HAPPY MEAL!
Heh, heh, heh. |

Hey Socar,
It's amazing how you captured what happens in the downtown eastside so often. Your work belongs in a mural somewhere down on Hastings street.
Far too often where I work, I have seen your image played out in real life. It is truely sad.

Mmmm, spinal column. Ribs, shoulder blades, hips. Tatty arm. Yum.
I love this. But you already knew that. No crits, except to say that I'd like to see a bigger version.

Oooh, beautiful and dark, Socar (as most of your art is - positively haunting!)
I'm looking for something to crit, but I can't really find it. I do /not/ think the shadow would look better as a more beautiful and perfect version of her, since it shows a lot of details that are hard to catch when looking at /her/. Only thing I find a little difficult with the picture is that her skin colour is so very close to the background, that her features are difficult to see... Her nose looks a lot more "rounded" on her than it does on the shadow... but that might just be me being confused. A small gripe, but I know you're looking for useful crits.
Ah, not that what I said was useful... anyway... /marvellous/ picture!

As requested...A larger version, and a detail:
Radiater--Yes...I live downtown, myself, actually just one street up from East Hastings, so I see this all the time. It IS sad...and it seems to be getting worse, not better.
Enayla--I think you're right about the nose...I might have gone a little overboard on the highlights. (But I'm too lazy to change it, now. Bad me.)
Anyway...larger image...yeah....

*Shudders* Great job, Socar. Reminds me of a piece by Ursula Vernon over at Elfwood in both subject matter and nouveau-ish style.
