There are some other unposted stuff at my site too. http://home.enitel.no/vebsart/index.htm

vebjorn. i think your new style is probably the best thing to happen to digital illustration in a VERY long time.

it's refreshingly unique, and the new focus in subject matter is also a very nice change.

i really hope your artwork ends up all over the states in printed form. that would rock out.

keep up the excellent work.

This reminds me of the comics I used to love, Kent Williams ect. I like this more than just about anything I've seen from you. Very active, very stylish, very rich. It's great.

PS. The 3d creatures on your site are very cool.

I prefer your new style to your old, alot darker and grittier. I like the monochrome look, nice pose for the main character and putting his face in shadow is a nice touch. Any influence behind that?

Yep, this is one of, if not your best in your new style.

These pics are much harsher, intense and raw than your older works. Which is great.

vebjorn: have you ever played with printmaking techniques such as Monoprinting? you can get some fantastic results and it is a fairly quick process.

you dont neccessarily need a rollerpress to print them either, all you really need is a piece of plexiglass, and printing ink., some brushes, some kerosine and alcohol, and a rolling pin or a wooden spoon or something.

when making it, you put your ink down on the plexi, not too think (generally if the ink has an "orange peel texture" or is really looks thick, you need to thin it out a tad) until you have your final image. after laying down the ink, you soak your paper so the ink will pick up on the paper, for about 15 minutes. lay the paper down on the plexi and roll the roller over it lightly. lift up a corner of your paper ever now and again to see if it has transfered how you wish.

dont use thin paper, i use BFK Rives, and sometimes watercolor paper. Cream colored, or "coffee" colored watercolor paper works great as well.

you also have to let the ink dry for about a day before scanning or doing anything over it.

plus you dont have to use all that coffee either :P

i really do love your newer stuff in comparassion to your older stuff, mainly because these are more textured.

sweet ass man!

Impressive Vebjorn!
I am wondering, how do you go about creating these new pics? Would be interesting to see some in-progress pics.

Looken great Veb!
There are alot of printmaking techniques you could use to get those backgrounds as moose pointed out, you should look into it. Try looking into some intaglio(aquatinting) techniques and litho as well.

Tea works just as good as coffee for that, along with cigaretts. YOu lay your paper down in a tub of water, light a few cigaretts and drop them in the water, the stain will drift down onto the paper, it takes a while tho.
Great stuff, I really like the approach your taking to this.
