i've posted this link on other bbs that i am a member in. i've received much positive feedback and it was suggested to me to post here for good, honest critique...
i'm an aspiring fantasy artist. the works o this page are mostly grayscale drawings from off the top of my head. i have little in the way of color that is easily suitable for scanning, though i plan to change this soon.
my online portfolio

hey you have some very nice art. one thing i notice first off is that you never draw too much futher below the knees. cept for the pic of 'Garam Fett, the Bounty hunter', but his legs look a bit too short, but other then that your drawing are really good ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

You must draw feet. Start getting the entire figure in the picture and recognise the picture as an entire composition. Just drawing figures on a piece of paper isn't going to get you far. Think of them in a more complete way, is the composition on the page good? Is this action pose interesting? Is the subject proportionate and acurate? Do what ever it takes to look at your work objectively, a lot of people here look at there work in a mirror. I guess it works for some, I suggest just getting good at seeing, and that means taking some figure drawing and just drawing for hours and hours.
I wouldn't have bothered posting if I didn't think you could draw well, but you can draw better, we are never as good as we can be. When you look back in a year and if you don't think, "Man that's not very good." then you haven't been working hard enough.

thanks for the honest opinions and critiques. sirstudly, you're right about the feet. it's been pointed out to me before. its not that i can't draw them, but i don't put enough consideration to include the entire figure. perhaps i should start working bigger. and i need to take the time and find the patience to make the pictures complete by including backgrounds. as they stand, they're more like character designs than whole pictures. and most of them are designs. but i need more whole pictures to compose a good looking portfolio.
thanks! |

Caliban: You seem to have nice shading, but your characters need a little working on... their poses and their anatomy... Figure drawing might help a lot here. ( look who's talking... (sigh) ) |
