Okay, Okay.
So, Yeah, I should start posting some of my stuff, But first off can I atleast start to tell you some THINGS about me?!
I'm 16, from New Zealand, Christchurch. I am currently at school, and this might be my last year.. I'm thinkin of quitting. I was also accepted to do a Diploma in Freelance Art and Cartooning/Illustration, And that's why I come here today, Really.
I have been a long time lurker I guess. And I've met some of you on PaintChat, Which probably makes it just a lil easier for me to come out, If you will.
Btw, I love all of your work. You are outstanding and are definitly ALL my idols.
So without further ado- Here is one of my uhh.. Showable peices. Yeah, it's line art.. at the moment. And Yes, it's an Inebriated Ferret, Being my other other nickname.
I also have a Ferret couple, called Seth and Sheena that I might post, sooner or later, But please, Comments, Crits, Anything.
Thank you ALL so much.

Well i bet i'm not one of your idol's .
Don't quit school, you might end up regreting it later on in life.
The drawing's not bad at all, you have a nice style. Perhaps you should have a go at colouring him?
Nice to meet you... as it were |

Hey!
Nice Cartoon. I like the expression on his face.
Some comments:
* Have you thought of using ... how to say it in english ... pen nib? or brush with ink? ( i only use the nibs), it will give you a line with more flow and variation, which will give your style more movement.
* color it - or work on the black and white (adding line variations, fill some areas in solid black), so it would sustain itself - right now it is not a finished work,
and it's great you're posting -

Thank god I have some replies
neebhore - Thank you very much There are a few reasons why I want to quit school, although.. I'm still thinking about it.. I want to do a lot of Computer Generated Art, And other things like that.. Although the school doesn't offer it, and won't let me do it..*sigh* I'm still thinking. So..No rushin into things I guess.
(Psst - Yes you are an idol. :P)
Seagull - Thanks About the pen and nib, Yep, I have. That was only done (the full thing) in 20 minutes, and it was just a doodle really. But I have used pen and ink, and brushes with ink, It was a thing we had to do in Art I did likethem a lot, Just have to keep practising with them. Oh, and why I didn't colour it was because I have to send it up to my Diploma thing and get it marked, They kinda don't want it coloured stuff, But one day I'll try and colour it, Might even post it up. Thanks for all your comments.
faustgfx - .... <-- Muwhaha, More dots than YOU! :P
Ian - Thank yah
Any more crits/comments? ifd really like hearing anything at the moment
Thanks!

Luci... dear Luci... Not that you do not have any talent dear, but do not quit school. You're still young, perhaps a little too young to make such an important decision that will change your life forever... a decision that you will so awefully regret if you actually go ahead and quit.
...that's all I have to say. Welcome.

I agree
I'm 17, and I am staying on to do my hsc - i'm in year 12 now.
Don't do something you'll regret later - stay for only two more years, and in the meanwhile just draw and do computer graphics at home.
HELLO! by the way |

Hiya Luci.. Nice to see you again!
Hm. This is my last year in high school.. i can share some of the same feelings. But seeing a friend of mine quit basically because she felt like it made me a little angry. She had so much going for her too. She didn't think so though. I personally think it was kind of stupid, that. So you've spent so many years in school and are going to quit after coming this far? And ey, you only graduate from high school once
The employer thing too. I think most boss guys are going to look at high school graduates first.
*shrug*

im 17 now.
my view on things:
1.Quit school. <--forgot to specify...dont just "quit" school. Take the test and pass early.
2.Go to college.
3.Ask your parents if you can do the finacials for one week.
4.Get a credit card through the mail, Buy yourself some art supplies, Put the credit card in a drawer and never take it out after that, It will assure you great credit by the time your 21.
5.Get an internship or just ask to shadow someone in the industry you want to work in for a day, figure stuff out.
6.make a website. make several actually if want.
7.Live life to the fullest. Carpe(sp?) Notem.
Thats what I've done and It's working great. Im taking a 2 1/2 year lightwave course, and just the other day I was offered a gig at Old Ironsides.
Just gotta move quick.

You guys all got "real jobs" way early.
When I was 16 I was selling LSD for five bucks a hit to any stupid ass fucker who would pay that much, working at a grocery store with full union benefits, and nearly failing out of school. I made a killing. It was a great year.

Hiya Luci,
Great cartoon, very neat.
I gotta cartoon character of my own, might draw him up on PaintChat some time.
I recognise you from the PaintChat, you have an uplifting impact on the atmosphere there & it's nice to know you're here on Sijun too.
I have to echo Frost's point here. Please don't give up on school. We all want out at some point, but stick with it and don't leave at this point in your education. Sounds nerdy, but think of it this way, the time you spend there you can use to think more about what you want to do. No need to rush!

Also have to re-inforce . . . finish school. You cannot possibly fathom the implications it may have on your life if you do not. Keep on studying, keep on drawing, and keep as many options available to you as possible. 100% Proof Vodka drinking ferrets . . . Interesting.

yeah quitting school is probably not the best choice. at least in the us, you make a lot more cash if you have a higschool diploma than if you don't. which would be a useful backup if art doesn't work out, or if you need money while working on learning how to do you art better. if your smart, you can just do what i do at school, and draw all day instead of pay attention... |

Hi Lucy,
Please stay in school! If for no other reason
than if you do stay...and someday decide to
go to art school or college, you will be
eligible for scholarships and grants. In the
future, you may not be hired for lack of
a college degree in computer Art.School can
teach you shortcuts and save your brain cells! |

Wowa! Thank you EVERYONE for the replies, Although most to do about the dabate of finishing aschool or not, Still nice to see some things coming through.
LazRath - Wow, what an "uplifting comment"..
vector - Hiya, Yeah, Well.. Im still thinking, and thanks.
Nova - Yay! Hiya Nova!! Okay, Im not quitting school just basically "because I can" I want to have a good life too. Believe me. I am a pretty academic person when it comesdown to the basics, and I am NOT like your friend who decided to leave school for the hell of it, Just thought I'd let you know
EviLToYLet - Hiya! Thanks for the comment, Yeah, well, I was bored at 1 in the morning, And..had an imaginative mind, as it may seem..
Giant Hamster - As I said, I do agree, Pass everything in school. I don't like to let myself down on things, even if I plan to uit school.. And, yes, I have made half of my own web page already. Even though it's not the best of things, and even though it's a start, it can be found here. I didn't really wanna post it, but, I'll say it's unfinished. I also feel that I am waay to ahead in some classes, even wouldn't mind moving up a year, and, if that's the case, let it be. I'm thinking to really sit down and have a think bout this. I still have a lot of thoughts on what I wanmt to do, What would school let me achieve, would it help me?.. Rah rah rah. Yes, a LOT of thinking Thanks for the reply
faustgfx - *looks at faust.* *frowns and looks at his webcam instead.* *stares.* *nods occasionally, sipping her drink*..
A.Buttle - Well, that's one way to.. do..something, at my age..
A.Mount - Yeeah
Ed Lee - YAY! ED! !!!!! *cough*[email protected]*cough* Eh? Thnaks a lot on the comments, Aww, and people miss me? is that a first? Say yes.
neebhore - Lies?! WHERE?!
ceenda - Thank you SO much! Aww, I felt pretty unsure about breaking into Sijun, But, ah well, it's been good, supposed paintchat realised a little tension
Speve-o-matic - Thanks, Still, as I say - *I shall think hard, and wisely, master.*
edible snowman - I'll have to see, Im sure everything will go according to plan, for me at least, sooner or later.
catnip - Hmmm, Nickname familiar eh? Don't hide...
Thank yooouu everyone!!!!
