Aar Jim Lad I have done a picture of a pirate he say "Aaar" It twas a brusk salty morn as I scoured the high seas for my arch nemesis: GreenBeard. It had been six long years since I had seen the peppery dog my last memory his twisty face drifting off through the cannon smoke. He had stolen my potatoe.

I need advice; can anyone tell me what a mainbrace is? Or splicing? Monkey Island that was good: how many wood chuckwoodchuckcchcuckcck cluck cluck haha

This is my 1st post I hope it works. I am interested in reinventing anatomy. I think Akira was an influence here. I have trouble with lighting.

I like it, style-wise because it's unusual - and I appreciate this kind of work since it's so anti-electronic art. Hell, I'm guilty of it too of some electronic-ness, AND derivativeness - but that's the nature of the beast..it's got to sell, and so it's got to look familiar to others OR people are going to be scratching their heads like some of my buddies here. I like it a lot, great texturing.

would be interesting to see this part of a series.. sort of gives us more visual clues to your subject.

Thanks for the praise- it really means something. It is a sketched coloured in photoshop so it is kind of electronic. I dont understand why you criticised your work...the last time i heard the word 'derivative' was from my old art teacher and he wanted us to all be van gogh.

As far as the mass market is concerned; people will grow to appriciate and accept whatever they are force fed. I'd just like to build on what is already circulating abit...

Anything that is a change of pace and style I'm going to rave about so... rave! rave! wahoo! The coloration is entrancing, the linework - great - never stopping anywhere, incorporating it seems the whole world... I don't recall ever seeing anything just like that, seems like you're quite developed as an artist (technically AND philosophically) and you could already be using that style to sell books of pics like that

cheers

PS - What I really like about it, is that it's BALANCED! fantastic

I'm so right there with you. What do you think about collaboration? Perhaps just a little exquisite corpse or something. It might seem like a waist of time as we don't know each other at all, but it may be fun. If you find some of my posts here note that they are from my commercial portfolio.(I'm not an art snob.) Why did you choose to work digitally?

a pirate, who has a steering wheel attached to his crotch, enters a bar. the guy behind the counter asks: "what's that steering wheel doing there?" - says the pirate: "ARR!! It's drivin me nuts!"

Nautical terminology check; A brace is a rope used to control a yard (you know, those big bits of crosswood the sails are attached to.) Splicing is simply joining or repairing a rope with another one (usually involving the tool known as a marlinspike; a really big metal needle)

Oh, uh..good pic too. I like that cloth vortex thing on its side. And the back end of a llama for a leg; very nice in a weird sort of way.

What it is is a Pirate. He has Pirate hat, pirate bird and a sort of pegleg. He also has a sort of eye patch.

GreenPeach- A collaboration would be fun. Your website looked cool. (strugling for words) In what way shall we do a zombie? I have to finish a picture at the moment so I can't start straight away. I used Photoshop because I had an interview for IG (games) and they seemed to labour the fact I had no Photoshop or Illustrator work. I prefer gel ink pens generally although the small range of colours is making me want to switch.
