Another piece of laptop art; another self-portrait. The photo-reference, for the curious, is somewhere on the third page of that monstrous picture/age thread in Random Musings.
Anyway, I'm finally working on the long-procrastinated redesign of my website, and this is part of the front page.... It's also my self-portrait assignment for drawing class. Yay.

Hey, I made up a joke:
Q: Why don't goths go to McDonald's?
A: They might get a HAPPY MEAL!
Heh, heh, heh. |

Ahh, never knew you were this young and had wings ...
Nice picture - slightly goth, I suppose, but nice nonetheless.

Where have I seen those reference pictures before? It's a comic book thing I'm pretty sure.
That's a pretty kick-ass self portrait I have to say. Could you post a slightly larger one? or maybe just e-mail one to me? I'd Like a better look.

Looks like you're being attacked by a tattoo. Wonderful design, just wonderful...the monochromaticism (is that a word?) works really well |

It's great, Socar!
I usually don't like white backgrounds at /all/ (especially not when they're glaringly white like here) but this actually works

I think you look yummy.
I must congratulate you on your cockney rhyming slang. Being a true cockney myself : Here is the proof:
I watch Steptoe and Son
When I'm at the pub I get Brahms and Liszt. All my friends are Merchant Bankers. Everynight before bed i climb the apples and pears. etc
Council flats are actually scary and should not be romanticised through seemingly innocuous poetics. |

Well, thanks to everyone, again, for your comments. I really do appreciate them....
A few individual responses...
tayete--Symbol? You mean that swirly tattoo-ish looking thingy at the bottom? *G* Sadly enough, it's just decoration. Doesn't mean a thing.
Transcendent--I'm 26...how old did you think I was? (But I don't have wings, unfortunately.)
Dean Welsh--You shouldn't have seen my reference photos before, except in the Random Musings thread. They were just taken a couple of weeks ago, and that's the only place they've been posted, to the best of my knowledge. I've also posted a larger version at the end of this post.
SoMK--Thank you! The white hatches are actually light cast through Venetian blinds.
MrPumpernickel--Nooooo! Attack of the killer tattoos! Hide! HIDE!
Enayla--Couldn't agree more about the white backgrounds. But my website has one, so I needed this to match.
Plant Man--I didn't actually write the rhyme about the dustman--it's a quote from a song by Lonnie Donegan. I know what you mean about council flats, though. My best friend lived in one for ages, and one time when I was round her place, a big huge INSECT fell out of the ceiling, where it had been burrowing, and onto my dinner plate. It was funny as hell, but I couldn't eat the dinner after that....
This isn't the full-size version, but it gives a better look at details & brushwork. I don't want to spam the forum with the REALLY honkin' version, though.

Hey Socar,
Really cool picture. There's only one thing I'm not so sure about. Is that your belly button there? If it is, it seems a little out of place (or maybe you've already had a couple of kids )
Radiater.

I have not had a couple of kids! Jeeze! I'm only 26! *Laughs* You do have a point, though, about the belly button. Oh, well.
...
Kids, indeed! Can't stand them, myself....
