I'm just the opposite, I like the head more than the body.

I'd have to agree, i like the head better also.. i think that it could use some more finishing touches though, a lot of it looks rough. like some sharper refelctions of the fire on his body.

cool. It looks like it's about to be covered by a wave of fire. Is that what you were try to do? Looks cool.. did you just use soft brushes to make that effect?

No, i am not gay, but the chest is lacking nipples, other than that, nice job. Might want to make the fire a little more defined.Keep up the good work.

Hi all, my first post on the forum.

This piece has some really nice brushwork, but there's a few things nobody pointed out.
Hispose could be more interesting- try rotating him a bit, and moving him from dead-center in the frame. What does he think about this fire? Try to tell more of a story.

The flames should be your main light source. There seems to be a lot of ambient light and white light that would be overpowered by the orange of the flames. Check out some phot ref.- maybe Arnold in Terminator... Try adjusting your color balance- turn up the reds and yellows and the green guy will look more engulfed in flames.

Try to start from the beginning with the flames and the subject. It looks like the flames were added later for lack of a good bkgrnd.

A nice piece, but it could have a lot more impact with these considerations.

rocket_sled- welcome!
yea, it is a kinda boring pose and i didnt have speciall point with this picture, i just found a old sktech, which i scaned and colred, but yes, a story behind the picture whould make it alot better.

And yea the fire are just for backgorund, it matched the skin tone...
=)

thx man! really good critiques!

Bg- Thx!

CeRbErO- you do, hmm, well..i dont! hehe..

S4Sb- hmm..yea maybe, and i think the mouth gives him a comic look to. thx..

great work on head colouring, although the picture itself don't impress me, Unoriginal.
you could work on his eyes and on the body - there's too many muscules there, or maybe you don't want it to look realistic
