My advice... don't ask for harsh criticism in a forum like this. It's a guy's forum and guys tend to be more harsh and and crass. If you want some actual help with your paintings you may want to try another forum.

Spring: I resent that very much cause a lot of people here give very good advice, someitmes i get some out myself, but not always, but i've been greatly helped many times before. although i know what you mean.. there are some harsh people here, but if you take offense to somebody saying that you need to work harder, then you probably do. you know you are working hard enough at something when someone says to work more and you can laugh at them cause you know that they are making a joke. anyhow, that is my rant.

As for the crit:
your people look a bit stiff, but that does go with all the edges you put in the image, and some more texture in the background of the bottom image would look nice, it is the only panel with flat colors in it.
putting a red shirt on the guy walking off the stairs in the first panel might look really cool, but don't do it if it ruins the theme you are after.
your colors are very nice, love your style, i dont really know what else you cold work on. so i'll be done now. later~

Spring,

I think that klaivu knows what she's doing. Especially because she predates you by an entire year.

Question: is that middle dude yawning or did he hit his head? Or both?

[edit]Sorry, wrong pronoun.[/edit]

Perhaps they're not perfect technically, but I think these pictures have got a lot more quality, of different sorts, to them than lots of other things I've seen here (to those of you trying out harsh crits here and usually ignore stuff lots worse and meaningless than this).
Here is an atmosphere, there are colours, nice compositions, a theme and most probably a thought behind them.
If the guy is a bit big on the 1st, that's probably on purpose. This is a forum for artists and everything doesn't have to be picture perfect reality. Art is more than that!
It's like saying: "Hey, Picasso, that nose is a bit off!"

Klaivu: You've got something! Keep it up!

Hey Klaivu,

I think you got the triptick (sp?) thing done pretty well. Although, I think you could achieve a little more seperation of those periods of life by increasing the colour and saturation of the child's picture. And adding a little more colour to the middle picture (midlife aint so bad - thats when you get to buy the porsche right )

I love this artwork. you have a nice style The images reminds me of a Stanley Spencer painting of a stair case in port Glasgow with kids playing on the banister and a woman carring a heavy bag of what looks like coal up to the top of a staircase also your painting style is also like his. Great work

What is that? Do I see Calvin and Hobbes at the botttom of that friggin painting?

Ermn but yea... in all honesty, calvin and hobbes is coo... and so is the painting. nice spiffy concept... 3 different atmospheres, tones, and all of that exciting stuff, all put together with some exciting stairs in pretty good perspective. But the guy fallin off that top stair seems a little.. large... for the perspective...

I'ts a triptyke ( spellcheck ), a piece consisting of three images.
I'm a bit out of focus, so i'll just say it's about myself at different ages .. an image about a lifetime in a symbolic way ?
( eheh. that [/tmp] - tag ... the folder where i store my images is /tmp/ - have to sleep some more )

Well, thanks for comments.

A.Buttle : My gf told me i'm a he.

Anyway, the point in asking for harsh comments was to get crits. I dunno, but i don't find those " nice image " - comments very helpful..

... yeah, well, i sort of focused on the idea in this piece ... still i worked on these for 4 days or more - the full size is 6000 * some pixels in 150 dpi per image, since they were for print. Personally i think i went a bit backwards technicalwise - these ended up stiff and colorless.
