Here we go. This one is about 80% done. I didn't want to put it under'WIP', becuase I won't continue on that one and nobody's looking at the WIP forum anyway.

Latest and probably last installment of the 'Stranded' series. Started from a sketch, worked my way through to that point. Resolution is around 3000 pixles (3K) ...

Really nice painting. Nice composition. The only thing I would suggest is that the specular lighting on the wrecked spaceship doesn't quite match the overall lighting of the scene. Still, I know this is a WIP and you might already want to address issues like this anyway.

Still a great piece.... I envy your talents.

Fantastic!

I love the way you get that gritty realism to your work - mine tends to look too plastic, too smooth.

Good series you've got with stranded.

Very nice Loki. This world looks very unpleasant and desertet.
First I was wondering if there shouldn't be more debris in the buttom of the valley, but then again - most of it probably fell of as the ship was crashing and what could come off probably already did until the ship came to a halt...

Incredible weight and power to this piece!

I'm really very astonished. Is this digital? Traditional? Do tell!

Loki;

I hate to sound picky, but do you have a large version that isn't so much made up of jpeg artifects?

Very nice Peter! If I had to comment, I'd just say that I feel there may be a little too much contrast in the rockpile and the terrain in general up front the image... just thinking about that 'painterly' comment you got... I think maybe the ship's blue would be just a tad more of a washed out greenish/yellowish color considering the environment and ambiant. But I could be wrong here. =) Great work my friend.

Row: I wouldn't hand out high-res versions without jpeg artifacts if I was that good. =)

I love the forlorn feel of this--you've really got a great effect going here with the dingy, muted colours and the oppressive sky. Please, please don't clean up those visible brushstrokes on the crashed spacecraft in the final version. They really add to the junky, post-apocalyptic mood of the picture.

No crits from me, unfortunately. I just got up. My IQ is hovering around the Neanderthal level. --- (I am a drooling idiot)

Adore the picture, though.

Yo Loki! Nice stuff. Nice to see you still doing these series. I love the lighting in here very natural looking. I'm trying to figure out how to do that in comics. Everyone seems to like strong secondary lighting.. which to me is just not natural unless you are on a stage.

Anyway, I love the piece. I think it would be neat if there was some sort of acitivity around the ship. Like either sparks from damage or people scavaging stuff. Some alien wildlife maybe?

Damn, you dumped us on this deserted wasteland! What are we gonna do now?! WHAT??

Or something similar. Very good one, best of the series, IMO. Nice feel to it. Well, not really 'nice'...

Wow, Loki this looking to cool, nice mod 'n all.
I'm with BooMStick on this one, maybe you need to add more crushed pieces (smaller) in the valley, but anyway you can find reasons for this absence.
looking good.

Loki,

I really like this series that you set out to do. The environments you've made are brilliant, especilly the rocky ones, but I was wondering for variety sake trying one that could be set in a jungle or something. Anyway, always impressed and keep posting.
