I'm showing you a couple 2-minute gesture drawings done by Bruce Wolfe.(These are the ones that I fished out of the garbage, when I was at CCAC.) He approaches his oil paintings in the same way.....VERY quick,gestural, and representational. He uses the brush to generate many kinds of different strokes, often leaving very wide brush strokes which look completely photo-realistic. My hope is that these drawings will help inspire others in their paintings and drawings.

I love gesture drawings..they really help sharpen careful observation

i've come to an appreciation of gesture drawings over the past 4-5 years. for myself gesture drawing has meant learning to make a mess in a constructive way....

nice pics, i'm doing a lot of gesture drawings myself recently. You're talking about CCAC in berkeley right? My girlfriend went there for a while for architecture.

YEAH!! CCAC in oakland/ berkeley and San Francisco. The architecture program there is pretty sweet....and very professional.
