Okay, here are a couple of characters from Tad William's 'Memory, Sorrow and Thorn'
If you have read the books, saying 'a couple of characters...' is a huge understatement. These are THE best characters in the book, Simon (right) and Binabik (left).
No i haven't colored it, I don't intend too. You guys do that.

Okay what am I doing wrong?

very pretty!

i'd love to see that colored.
great line work.

p.s.- the left guy's left eye could use a lil move towards the nose.

Great drawing, Isric. Very expressive looking characters. Too bad I haven't read the books.

I've read the Memory, Sorrow, Thorn Trilogy. Someone suggested it to me, it was okay but wasn't one of my favorites. But hey, I didn't really like Tolkien either, so I guess I have strange taste in fantasy

Nice line art, very stylish.

Couple things about my coloring:
It was tough to color from a rough sketch with a lot of lines.
I didn't know what to do with the background.
Also it looked to me like Simon was missing his right hand. Now that I look again I guess it's on the inside of his leg?

Originally I was going to do this like a digital painting, then realized that would take some time , so I just added a couple highlights and darker colors to what I had and left the sketch layer on. The result is kinda weird, kinda interesting at least, I hope

[EDIT] Changed "upper lip" to teeth. Does look better now

Hopefully someone else will color too, it would be interesting to see other variations, I guess not many people have read the books?

Sweet! That's awsome. You captured the MS&T atmosphere colors very well. I love seeing what people see in my pictures. Very nice.

One little comment though, those are his teeth, not his lips...

If you liked MSandT you may like (but with a completely different style and attitude) Tad Williams Otherland Series. Too me I feel they are superior, but that is upto your judgement. Book 4 (the last of the series) will be out on the 15th of march.

Oh trust me, I know Otherland well. I couldn't be a Tad fan without reading them.
