Hey guys, I know I am still kinda new here but I finally hooked up to a site that allows direct linking. This is some key shots for a story that I am going to animate in max. I have already changed the design for the dinosour, I'll post that when the coloring is finished.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE CRITQUE!!! I am certainly not happy with it.

Hey. I like the pictures. Looks nice and cute
I really like the 3rd picture. It has a nice feeling to it.

Crit: Try not to use black as shadows.
Also keep every surface low(er) contrast, with the contrasty forms separating the elements in your scene.
For example: Look at the green character in pic 3. The almost white highlights are too distinct, with no defined lightsource/shadows.

Good luck! What is the story of these pictues? I didn't understand what is happening...

All your highlight values seem to be the same. Use lower value for background highlights to add more depth.

What your doing is lowering the depth of field to almost nothing. Your also not being consistant in doing so. What this means is if you don't know is that the area which is in focus on a camera is controlled through several adjustable tools. But if I set it to 5 feet away for a one foot radius that means that starting at five feet away is the sharpest most detailed part of my picture and everything else going away from the point becomes more out of focus and is proportional to that distance. This might sound complex or maybe you already knew all that. Your pictures are very cinematic and if I were you I would not use as much out of focusness as you are. Get some detail in the background. I really like your lighting in the third picture but you really need to work on contoling the main intrests of your picture. You can do this by making them more different from the background through change in tone and color.
Well I wanna see more when you come up with it. Keep it up.
