Ohh geweez. heheee This is just intended to be art. This is not not a depiction of an expirence I once had. The idea is that I'm just listening to what this character has to say. Instead of me running away in terror, I give my attention to this being. This is for a college class, my teacher likes this deep read idea stuff. I kinda liek it too. !

This ROCKS!! I also enjoy seeing art that I could then right a short story about. Very inspiring.
Did you use reference photos for this piece by any chance? |

Is this a photograph that you just added the demon to? I was having trouble making out the form of the figure on the right (I assume that's the one that's supposed to be you ) so I turned the gamma way up, and there's a lot of detail in there that most people just wouldn't paint.
In any case, it doesn't look quite right for two reasons, which unfortunately are pretty integral to the picture. First, the way the light is coming in the window, the demon would be mostly in shadow. Second, well, I mentioned it earlier, but it's hard to make out the form of the figure on the right (you.) It's mostly that it's a weird angle, and the folds in your jacket are obscuring your form. You might want to touch that up a bit, so that it's more obvious which way you're sitting.
Otherwise, the demon fits in pretty well. (And I was going to compliment you on the realism of the view out the window, until I realized it was a photo. ) |

This picture is indeed mostly photo. The figure on the right is (me). This is a very dark lighted scene and when gamma is low on your screen, you'll miss a lot of detail in the picture. However the detail really isn't that important.
Get-up-kid, This scene is actually 2 different photos composited together. The layer that I actually am on is the full screen. The evil figure is a cutout area from an entirely different picture. My roomate was the stand in for this figure.
Waylon, you mentioned the light wasn't that acurate on the deamons back, and I agree. MY roomate "stand in" photo was taken at an angle not quite the same as mine. I over looked this when I finished. (keep in mind, I took these photos just because I saw this freaky light shining though windows. I had no intentions on making this picture while I was taking the digital photos) I love how ideas just pop into our brains sometimes. I do like how that extra light lets me see the detail on the deamons back. I understand you though.
Here's the reference pics.
There ya go! And lastly the devil was just painted in photoshop.
I love doing all photoshop, but using pictures can be fun as hell!
later , and thanks for the wonderful comments!

Excellent work ! I would have thought that in this light the demon wouldn't have been so "coloured" a sthe rest is very monochromatic but who am I oi know how the demons are to react in Dinner's muahahaa.. excellent !! :p

Arggh! Mostly photo?!? For a minute I thought someone was cool enough to actually draw the whole scene. That would have really blown my mind. Ah well, it's still cool. |

It looks good, but with the gamma up, it looks as if you're looking straight in front of you at the wall (to the left of the demon) and not at the demon. |

looks great, a lot of time when people try to blend art with a real pic it looks fake, but its a perfect transition with your pic since the mood is so right being at night and stuff |
