id really like to meet this friendly person in reallife
No ... the pic is really good and the right arm has got good atonomy, but the left one is ... hmmm ... missing (mainly the biceps, triceps).
And the tail looks a bit strange, but mainly a very good pic.
i hope u are not too angry with me about my critique

Nice work, the shading turned out really well. The effects are sweet also. I would only suggest maybe darkening the background to give a little more contrast. Keep up the good work. |

MD is pretty spot-on. Excellent, original use of effects, as for the character, definition starts disappearing (blurred) past the abdomen and the other mentioned problems, but quite a promising work |

Has anyone else attempted any comic heroes? I think I might try doing Spawn next... he's always fun to do |

Sublimiate:
I posted this Spawn piece I did a while back in an earlier thread.
I don't have any of my current sketches or pages online, but I still draw comic characters from time to time.
(this is really old guys, so go easy..hehehe)
Higher res is at http://darkgarden.dreamhost.com/surfer.jpg
I like your lighting on Venom, but I think his torso needs some anatomy work. Looks nice though

Spiritual_Chaos, those plasma effects are just Eye Candy>Flames or >Smoke in a different application mode.

Sweet work Dark Garden, your style is pretty hardcore!
(Just watch out though, cause I'm gonna learn from you!!!)
--------Hopefully I'll see more of your work around
A.Buttle: using Eyecandy would probably be faster but I'm not too fond of
Alien Skin software... though Xenofex has two good ones
---I just use polar coordinates and wind---
I wonder if I've missed anyone elses rendering of Spawn/X-men/Etc.
regardless I'd totally dig seeing some |

Venom, Spawn and silver surfer, all in the same thread Nice! Subliminate, really nice effectswhoah and nice warping too looks real cool! I would make his muscles a bit harder though, maybe just some hard brush strokes to make it like he's chiseled like comic chars usually are. ahh can't get over those effects soo sweet gee, u gotta show me how you did that!
Hmm maybe i should add venom's former host, unfinished for about 2 years, maybe i'll work on it a bit

well that was a happy little post...
people spending the time to respond is definitely a compliment. Thank you MD-02...
that response was sweet. I still have lots to learn from everyone else though (no names said!)
"Ahh the inspiration!" ... But anyway,
I've said enough!
---Thanks again for the welcoming |
