.....The closest I've ever come to having a physical reaction to a film was when I was eating yoghurt and watching bad taste, and got a bit nauseous when they started eating mushed up brains out of a big bowl. I put the yoghurt aside. |

Since I'm no longer in diapers, I can't say I've had a reaction like that since I was a wee lass.
On the other hand, Stir of Echoes scared me witless... |

I was just about to say Cube. That film should only ever be seen in a large, dark, quiet, virtually empty cinema. Loved it.
However... the mindjob kind of tapered off after the first half hour or so, I think... at which point it turned into a regular movie. Oh well.
I'm proud to say that no movie has ever led to me befouling myself. At least, not since I was 3 or so. |

Hahahaha...If you are refering to movies having a scaring effect on a person, then I would have to say Return of the Living Dead...I swore I was freaked at the thought of zombies for years! It takes a lot to scare me as I work in production so I anticipate the scene changes in films.
If you're refering to movies having an emotional impact that causes physical sensations...well Braveheart would be one...when James Horner's score is playing and we see the shots which are implying the henchmen are disemboweling Wallace, I swear I could feel that when I first saw it and lost my breath! Bam! That's power. When the horror of the atrocities that the Dalai Lama is forced to deal with in Kundun and we see the imagery flash before us, that was amazing! When we see the thought of the wife back home in the Thin Red Line...a lot of shots in The Thin Red Line in fact...When I go to most movies I get the feeling of hairs standing up on my entire body, tears of joy in my eyes and a state of ecstasy. This is mostly brought on by summer and movies that excited me a kid and still excite me to this day - like when I saw that Brachiosaur walk in Jurassic Park in me, the kid in me then, and kid in me now still is in awe at that moment.
If on the other hand, you are refering to movies that make me wanna crap myself because they're so bad...well, I wouldn't crap myself but I'd say, Event Horizon, On Deadly Ground, Robocop 2 or 3, Very Bad Things... |

Jackie chan with (Bradley James Allan) <-- he is spectacular fighter. None of the stunts in this movie required wires of any sorts. Go see it, you'll know what I mean. |

Some people may call me crazy... but I gotta say that the Blair Witch Project scared the bejeebies out of me! The first time I saw it was before it had actually come out, a sneak preview before it was all hyped up. It was in a tiny theatre on the other end of town, one I'd never been too before. This movie is not the same when you've heard everything that happens from your friends, it's not the same after the news has hyped it up, it's not the same in a big comfy commercial theatre and it's DEFINITELY not the same when you rent the video and watch it at home (unless you rent it and watch it in an isolated cabin in the woods, hehehe).
I remember when the movie ended you could tell everyone in the theatre was holding their breath and when the credits finally came up there was this mass exhale and everyone was stirring uncomfortably in their seats. I gotta say, that was one creatively done movie if you ask me, I really liked the idea and I know it worked in scaring me, heheh... although I didn't "$h!t" myself, when I took my best friend later she was so wound up by the end that she threw up in the parking lot. |

I just watched Saving Private Ryan for the first time last night.... eeeeeek... great movie but that opening scene was just so awful, eek eek.
Oh and another scary movie that just came to mind - Black Christmas. When I lived with my parents there were many nights when I couldn't sleep, so around 2-3am I would turn on my tv to kill some time. I'd flip through the channels and about once a year, this one movie would come on. It's an old movie, supposedly the first "sorority house thriller" but it's not about college girls having pillow fights in their undies. For some reason I could never stop this movie once I watched part of it, despite the fact that I knew it would keep me awake. The shizo sounds in that movie just really freaked me out. It was until recently that I finally found out the name and rented it to watch with some friends. I had to find out if I was just being a pansy or if it was an unusually creepy thriller... well, everyone there was pretty freaked out in the end. I would recommend it, it's a cool movie... Black Christmas.

Lost Highway.
Mystery Man: We've met before, haven't we.
Fred Madison: I don't think so. Where was it you think we met?
Mystery Man: At your house. Don't you remember?
Fred Madison: No. No, I don't. Are you sure?
Mystery Man: Of course. As a matter of fact, I'm there right now.
Fred Madison: What do you mean? You're where right now?
Mystery Man: At your house.
Fred Madison: That's fucking crazy, man.
Mystery Man: Call me. Dial your number. Go ahead...

Ian, maybe because it wasn't scary. At all? Mildly creepy, not even disturbing. |
