... but not too damn lousy either.

It's actually mostly a character portrait. Thus the lack of interesting pose, background, or anything interesting at all

(Edit) Bah, damn geocities!!

E- i really like the tailfin!!!

suggest: i dont know why, but i seem to want gills under the arms along the side - not to compete with his humanity but subtle...
maybe the columns of seaweed which work with the hair and continue in the BG could be more silohuetted(darker/more dense) with gaps revealing a light source behind in the distance as to somewhere he is from?!?!
nice site, too.

Yo Enayla,
No offense but ... she doesn't have any tits

hey sew me i'm a guy

Anywayz, the colors look really cool and the lighting across the chest look very realistic.
Actually it's a great drawing except for the tits (but maybe that's just me)

Thanks for the suggestions

Eheh... but mind you, there's a reason for the lack of boobs. Think about it - what would be the LOGICAL reason to why someone lacks breasts? Maybe not that I've forgotten to draw them, but..?

I love how you did the scales, very nice!

Tweek, I don't know how you could confuse this guy with a girl. I think the "maleness" is obvious

Ah, a boyfriend for the lady mermaid.... Very pretty highlights on the tail, although I'm wondering about the realism of that lighting, considering the mellowness of the light everywhere else, and the darkness of the background. Looks like he's quite deep underwater.

Ah, realism be damned. I LIKE those highlights....

Likey. One thing: his hair seems to be growing a bit strangely on his head. Like he had a poorly fitting, levitating wig. :P

Oooh, I like it. A lot.

I love the lighting. It's very etherial, very magical, withough being over the top. Fantastic.

*laughs at Tweek's comment* Not used to Enayla's art yet, eh? Actually, I think this is one of your more masculine chaps. Could just be me, though.

Am I the only one to wonder how merfolk reproduce...? Hrmmm... I guess I'm doing nothing to dispell the one track minded reputation of men, eh?

Heheh... thanks everyone.

For the umpteenth time - I'm not really after drawing masculine men. I have a real problem with spikey hair on pictures... looks too anime/manga - not that I mind it in other people's pictures... it's just not my thing.

I'm not aiming to draw guys like other people draw guys. I never have, I never will. I draw them like I want them to look - I have the liberty to since these are my pictures.

Not that much stranger to have a guy with really long flowing hair, than to have a girl with a crewcut... I have several male friends that have /gorgeous/ long hair. I like it.

So... there I've said it, again... I don't aim to draw masculine guys. Sorry.

As to the scales... I know the light wouldn't really make them sparkle like that... but it looked soooooo pretty, so I thought to myself that I don't much care what looks natural. I care what looks pretty. Heheh.

Yeah, I wish everyone would lay off the whole "masculine male" thing. I think this guy is pretty foxy!

I think he's pretty hot too! Those action hero types with necks thicker than their heads are not exactly what I'd consider attractive.

anyhoo, the picture looks beautiful. I kinda wanna see more shading on the lower part of his tail. just my preference. looks great though, as always

Very well done. As far as the whole breast argument goes I can understand its rather illogical underwater, but they dont exist anyway so make some b00bi3s! :P

Again, thanks everyone

As for how I made it...err... I really don't know... *rolls eyes at self* I started drawing a lot of colours that I liked, and he kinda slowly appeared from the blotches.

The mermaid that keeps being mentioned is one I did some time ago...

now I can see them both definitely like the rays of light on the female.

So, how did you do the scales? do you dot on a white spot then dot on a coloured spot on top? i really liked the dragonfly but i wasn't paying attention %)
