...Martial Artists, that is...eh-heh
It's been quite a while since I last posted something around here. Mostly I've been fooling around in Painter, trying to get some sense out of the program, and I must say I enjoy every single moment around that program... It just so bloody cool... Well, enough bla bla. On with the topic...
I always had this thing with the original TeenageTurtles comics. They were fun, fast paced and very violent and not at all like the 'disney' films turned out. So, I thought it was about time I did one myself. Acouple of hours in Painter and this is how it turned out. Crits are welcome and please, PLEASE do post your own TMNT-pics...

Right on, like the old black and white comic, before the movie, the cartoon, and those marvel shit comics. Kicks ass on 4th grade nostalgia alone! |

I prefer Donatello . Maybe that's because I'm a die-hard fan of the long staff

Haha, nice Boom! Love the simplistic cartoony background and text bubbles, makes the character's shading and shape really stand out! =) |

heh! nice to know that I'm not alone in the world....
n8 - yeah, I did exaggerate (sp?) those arms on purpose. Tons of flaws, but I just love painting in this style. Actually your're pretty close in painting digitally how you would do this in acrylics. I only skipped one step I think, but that could easily be incorporated also... Neat pic btw.
Faust - hehe.
ZenDragOn - Yep, your'e right!
Frost - thx, my friend. How about doing one yourself, or do you consider yourself too grownup for this subject???
Bishop - Donatello sucks a$$ compared to Raphael...
Shaded - Actually I was hoping for others to join inn. How about doing one yourself?
BRING ON THE TURTLES EVERYONE!!!!!! -eheh

Ahh! That brings back memories!
Boom I like the pic. I like that even though its a comic char. it's not overly comicbookish. And it sounds like a dumb thing to point out, but I like his right foot (on left side of pic)!
As far as "crits" go, my only suggestionw ould be to maybe hueshift hisbelt a little bit off from being the same color as his chest. Not like a blatantly different color but maybe make it stand out just a little bit more from the chest/underroos. |

Awetopsy - How much longer do we have to wait??? Post it.... !
incredibleMGC - Yeah. I was looking at some ref pics and they had the same color for belly and the belt. But you're right - a different color wouldn't hurt.
StereoPhoenix - Donatello with an attitude. cool.
Gecko - real nice lightning and colors.
Janne - thx. Yours is pretty cool too.. Theres alot of similarities in style between our two pictures... Probably also in how they were executed...
well, hopefully I'll find time to do one more today....

Hah ! cool images .. I like yours the most, boomstick, i loved those original tmnt cartoons too ..
anyway, i decided to get off my lazy ass and do something - was a huge pain, because my right wrist is sort of broken .. ( janne : still all fucked up .. )
i also invented the perfect method for me to get myself painting : get something important to do, so you can use painting as an excuse to not to do it . .. brmllsk. i'm rambling ..
here's the pic.
p.s : damn it, gecko. how do you do those backgrounds ? i just cant get it. ..
edit : damn, boom that last one is good ! eheh

Tovart - No. Leonardo has the twin katanas (I forgot to paint in the second one...stupid me!) Donatello has the bo-staff and is pretty good at fixing mechanical stuff. Michealangelo has the nunchagos and shuriken. And lastly Raphael who has the sai. That said, Raphael does use a katana occationally, but his favourite weapon of choice is the sai. So in the end you were kinda right.. Sort of...
Klaivu - Great pic. He looks really worn out. Are the bandaging some sort of hint on your own broken arm? And btw what is it that you and Janne do at night? brakin' arms 'n stuff??? eh-heh...
GECKO? GECKO? Where aaaaare you?
