I posted this in WIP earlier and have tweaked it a bit - I'm happy enough now to called it finished.
All done in painter, except light rays done on very transparent layer using channels in PS - I think it's still better for these things.
Anyway hope you like it.

this is what confuses me about this forum...I'm the third person to reply to this image...I've seen other threads (no offense to anyone) of lesser quality get more replies because the author made some pop culture reference and everyone decided to climb aboard....
anyway, I really do like this image, it captures the atmosphere of the tranquil world beneath the waves nicely...good work!

i think its beautiful
one tiny little thing tho (i shouldn't even b saying this since its 20374928359273 times better than anything i've done)... the dolphins are in almost exactly the same pose, and it looks kinda weird in that sense. other than that i love the way the water looks, as well as that little patch of coral.

Mmm, I feel so peaceful by just looking at this picture.
What was the resolution this painting was painted in?
You know, this pic goes down well with an Enya CD. Sail away...sail away....sail away...sail away.

Very Very nice work Oli_D. You can't go wrong with an underwater scene. Great lighting, nice atmosphere and I really like how you did the top of the water with the reflections and ripples. Looking forward to your next post. |

Thanks a lot for your generous words everyone!! It turned out better than I thought it would so I think I'll try underwater scenes again.
ArtKeo, the resolution was 3000 x 4555 - I like to be able to print my work out.
