Hey all,
Been awhile sense my last post, this is what I've been working on. The goal was a young female head with good topology so i can convert the polys to NURBs. I screwed up some of the topology around the eyes, but overall it wasn't too much of a disaster. I'm going to start another and if all goes well I'll do the NURBs convert as well. Anyhow here she is, could use some feedback:

Render:

Wire:

Maya for those that don't recognize the ucky render heh.

Thanks,
Ryan

looks childish. like a 13 year old child. if that was the purpose than good job. it looks great anyways but not like a mature woman. more like a girl.

Great modelling, i am not sure but the back of the head and neck looks a little odd, I'm not an anatomy expert so maybe its just me.

Hey,
Thanks for all of the responses.

Guy - Just a little, I'm playing around with XSI and i'm told it has good subd tools so prolly more in the near future.

topeira - ya the goal was even a bit younger than that, like 11 or 12. I still think the eyes are a bit too big though.

Nick2k - ya i'm thinking the neck needs some serious work...

It's beautiful. My anotomy nitpick is the ear. Needs a little more info near the lobe and the opening. (If you're going for naturalism.)

you suck
go home
heh
it looks a lot sweeter in the ghetto render than in the screen shots, and even when i was rotating it around myself, heh.
what bugs me are the nose and the corners of the mouth. do a little bit more research as far as the mouth goes and it will look sweet.
and detail the nose a bit. very nondescript/3d.

soon we will take over the world...

muhaha?

Hmm...Maya and XSI at your disposal - must be nice. Haven't used XSI but sounds like they got their act together..I really like their new interface. Anyone who's got enough gutz to post their human head model got my respect as it is probably the most stringently critized 3D element one can show. I also find building convincing lips difficult but you've managed. I do believe you need more pronounced tear ducts in the model.. Like to see the end result. Ed--

I like it...
The wrong point that I can notice is that the neck is tooooooooo thick (wide) in the wireframe front view...

Its more a boyish neck.

Good work !!!

Mr. Lee responded, i am humbled I'm a student @ scad so i have access to most of the packages. from what i can see xsi looks sweet. i came by blur this winter with some other students from scad, dunno if you remember that. you guys thinking about using maya or xsi in the future? sounded like blur was max gungho from the visit. personally i'll learn max to work @ blur heh

sempere - ya i know the neck sucks, although the othro camera flattens things out quite a bit.

this is my first head model, thanks everyone for the crits, making a list of things to keep in mind on the next one.
