Very nice on the "alien". The background...you don't want to have it distract from the awsome work you did with the "alien"..hmmm

Big ups to you.
This is spectacular, a beautiful piece of work. The colours are great (you like the pinks, purples and greens don't ya), and the translucent stretched skin is a brilliant touch.
Impressive dude, impressive. |

Aside from the obvious, I like the way fibrous muscle layers are rendered, notably on the neck, back and the wrist. I wish you'd carried that look through the lower leg area, unless of course that's what you're going for. Background could be darker with the edges darker and the center with some light to contain the creature. Nice any how... Ed-- |

Thanks Lukias and Frost!
And the alien is all PS, the backgroung is a scanned painting.
Ed, I see what you mean about the legs. Truth be told, I got a little lazy near the end of this. Thanks for your time, your stuff is top notch.

Gosh... Cool. Kind of a mix between Alien and Jurassic Velociraptor
The clear background works well with the figure. There's just this strange transition with the ground...but the creature is enough in itself i think.

Wyatt, this started as a pencil sketch that I scanned. From there I drew out the detail in black and white, then did a color layer over that with the opacity turned down about halfway.
Thanks, GP |

So, GreenPeach...How does the subject line of this post relate to the content contained therein...? I've been researching the Necronomicon for over six years now, and have seen some pretty wierd shit; All of it wierder than this...But props to you for your excellent work.

OOps. I was confused, he put out a book of the same title but the alien is just an alien. I will not doubt your Gothic authority again. |

Uhm...first off... I'm not "goth", second, if you believe the Necronomicon was a book published by Geiger, then you need to do a little more research. :P The word "Necronomicon" means quite literally "The book of dead names" (or depending on how you translate it "The book of forgotten names". It is a set of incantations and conjurations written in the 8th century C.E. by Abdul Alhazared and contains spells and rituals designed to conjure spirits into physical form to do your bidding (among other things).

This is cool, like velociraptor meets the electric socket. If you want to stay in true form with the H. R. Gieger, put some subtle references to exotic alien-like sexual appendages in your BG. Those are always disgusting to look at. The muscle connections and ligamnets on his exoskeleton look touchable. |

Yeah, Necronomicon - by that Mad Arab as he was once known...I started reading that book and after few chapters got spooked because I was visually/emotionally staring at the face of total Evil. One can just imagine AND Giger seemed to capture some of that....What an artist... Ed-- |

wow.. i love the "oily" rainbow feel, its like there is a thin oily skin over his muscles.. not the most exciting pose, but a good proof-of-concept color/texture work, can we see this guy in action in his natural habitat? perhaps eating some people?

Wow, I actually like that more than the Giger original.
The background lets it down just a little though.

CE Abdul Alhazared was a character who was made up, along with the necronomicon idea, by the one and only H.P. Lovecraft
