From the movie . This is a really great flick. Love the idea, love the music. So I painted the man himself.
N'joy.

You should definitely see Aronofsky's newer film, Requiem for a Dream. It is even better than Pi () from a filmography perspective. I belive that it will be released on video/DVD very soon.
It is the best piece of film that I've seen in years (and I am a pathetic film geek).
Anyway, Clint Mansell performs the soundtrack on this one (he had some cuts on Pi as well) along with the Kronos Quartet. So imagine those moody downtempo breaks and bumps with some stringed instruments to add timbre.
Let me know what you think of it.

Yeah great. Requiem for a Dream may be better than Pi (which rocked BTW), but I still have to see it and you know why ? Because it hasn't even been to the movies in Germany. And no release date has been set.
Thanks.
As for the pic, it's hard to comment on it because there's so little there. Maybe you will want to crank up the detail a bit.
But the general mood is good, it fits the film.
Pi is one of my top 10 favorite films. I can't wait to see Requiem for a Dream.

I was lucky enough to get ahold of an AVI that was ripped directly from a screener copy of Requiem. Man, it's completely powerful. I wish I could have seen it a second time in the theatres. I will definitely be buying my own copy of this when it is released. I gotta get a DVD player though. Nothing good is ever released on widescreen VHS anymore.
Also, you guys should read the interview with Aronofsky that was in Mean Magazine last month. You can read it for free here.

Paul Oakenfold is the interviewer, which is pretty cool.
And if you haven't seen the Requiem for a Dream web site, then you should. It won't make much sense if you haven't seen the film yet, but its still worth it. http://www.requiemforadream.com/ Requires Flash.
And about the drawing (since I completely forgot to critique it before), It looks good but you need to try to avoid that muddy look with the shadows. It's hard to do though. Its a matter of picking the right brushes and having the settings just right (and practice). Keep practicing with it though, and if you figure out how to avoid the muddy look, make sure to tell me.
Later,
