What an awesome place! Gday, I stumbled across sijun not long ago, i gotta a say Im kick'n myself for not finding this place sooner.

so... thats my first post! I did it from scratch with painter, the resolution you see is what i worked at, hope im not spamming with such a big image.

Ive had a wacom for about 5 weeks and im having great fun. Anyway, crit away...

kicken your self. Me to I found it only about 2 weeks ago myself.
As for your pic. Very cool colers. It glowes and I say that as a compliment. Keep up the work and havin fun. be cool to see other things you might have to post up.
But ya realy have to gage on how larg to make you pic. if its realy detaild or have a realy intricute texture and it has to be big to show... then make it big. But the image seemd like it down loaded pritty fast for me. Then again im on a t1.

Really, really like those lips! Theyve got a more reddish tone to them that makes them seem more real, I guess... or maybe it is because they look more detailed than the rest...umm...anyway, theyre damn cool. Dont like the eyes as much though... they seem too... I dunno, manga/comic style... don't really fit the "realness" of the rest of the pic...face atleast. I'd say one more thing you could do is to put more dark colors in there, and some lighter, to add some contrast. Right now it looks pretty... wossname...bland('s that the word?).
Really cool anyway

thanks for those comments, great way to be greeted to a board in just a few hours with helpful comments.

to Glondus: i think your right about the lack of contrast, it does look a bit washed out in places, its probably because im relying to much on smudging with the water tool. Is it a bad habit to smudge stuff too much? i dunno.

and to nightmare: I did sort of make him the light source I originally thought of making him a glowing Iceman but it evolved into that instead.

probably wont change anything on this though I find it hard to work on a piece a few days later, i tend to get carried away and change it too much,

anyway...more crits welcome.

He definitely seems to be glowing. It feels like a dream. I don't know if it LOOKS like a dream but it FEELS dreamlike when I look at it.

He has a nice little pug expression with his mouth!

very cool. only thing i would do is cut him off below the neck. Other then that i love his eyes and mouth.
