There is a skeleton in my drawing studio at school that is somewhat gimp. i drew him. his name is timmy. enjoy.
this was done on 22x30 paper with charcoal pencils, ink wash, and tea (yes, real tea).
i think that my server is down.. i hope its back up soon. grr... internet technicalities. if you can't see it, check back soon.

Personally, I like this sort of work not so "commercial" looking. Hmm..I used to see this kind of work at Pratt where I went to school. It looks like school art class drawing, but that's what I like about it.Little surreal and partly Baconish - and tea's a nice touch...Thanks for postin'! I won't be able to as I've checked into the clinic. Ed--

Very sharp stuff you got there! I really like the wrinkles in the blanket, with it being tied up on top and all, sweeeet.
The basic 3D forms study is also very clean, though it seems too bright overall, it could use more depth, but your study of cast shadow onto other objects it really like. The edge of the shadows are too hard though, I don't think you get those kind of shadows except in 3D renderers. But, you can really feel the objects as though they are real objects in 3D space and not "this is a painting of a guy who tried to do things that look 3D"
Oh, and don't start listening to punk rock, or else your brain will rot. |

*raises hand*
Are the light, angular lines for perspective, or to keep forms at the proper proportions to each other? Or just because they look cool?
Because they, you know, look cool. But they also appear to have another function. I'm curious as to which it is.

shaithis:
The light lines are construction lines, I was first taught to put then in just for measuring and keeping proportions, but i like them so much, that i try to incorporate them into the drawing, they are at all neccesary for measuring, all that you need for that are small reference points. i just really like the feel that they give to the drawing, so i develop the ones that wrok better, i guess you might be able to tell by comparing the geometric shapes one to the skeleton, the shapes were when i was just learning to do them last year.. and the skeleton is about a week old. hope that answers your question. |

Interesting stuff. I went through all of high-school art (including some outside classes), and a semester at Pratt, and we were never taught anything like that... which is odd because it probably would've helped me greatly.
Ah well, Thanks for the reply.
