If you feel that you've learned all that you can from this piece, then by all means move on.

The best advice that I can give is to practice as much as possible. I always say (for beginners) study other artists' works. See what it is about their work that makes it look good (line thickness, composition, colors, textures, proportion, details). Then copy that picture. Yep, you heard me right. Do the exact drawing line for line and pay really good attention to what you're doing while you're drawing. Then study your drawing and see what parts you did wrongly or differently compared to the original. Then when you are finished, immediately THROW IT AWAY. Do not keep this in your portfolio or with your art or anything. It must be discarded. You will have gained an a great deal of knowledge and some valuable practice with the exercise.

I can speak for myself and say that you have my full permission to try this exercise with any of the art on my site (although there are plenty of people on this board who are much more talented than me). But I would be proud to help you along. Just do me a favor and throw the art away when you are finished.

Good luck,

Well, why should you quit??? If you have the desire to paint, than do it - no matter what other people say.

Also, put effort in reading the forum names - this part of the forum is called "Gallery/Finished Work" ... and not "Work In Progress" which your image is.

As for your painting - I'd complete it, just to see what it looks like. You might learn a lot if you coplete it - how about it?

Good start... try looking at some anatomy for some basic structure of the torso. There aren't that many ab muscles in the body And try inking your drawing, it looks a lot better when you color it. Or, just make dark, clear lines with pencil.
