my sugestion would be to get rid of the background as you have it now. the textures on the face look great but having that same kind of texture all accross the boards is a little to much. Give it a nice back ground to give it some contrast. Creat more depth. you could also try bluring the back ground a tad once you have panted a new one. I would love to see a different back ground. Almost like you got lazy and didnt whant to finesh is. Just a little more and I think your almost there.
Nice face though!

The background was intentionally designed that way. i wanted a tile styled background, like the kind of tile you'd see in the bottom of a really expensive pool. The contrast between the aqua blue background and the orange skintone of the face was my major focus. I also thought that a variety of different textures within the painting would define it more. (if you'll notice, the background style texture does not appear any where else within the image, likewise the character textures don't appear anywhere else within the image)

the crack on the upper lip is looks like it's a 3/4 angle while the rest of the pic is from the profile so that's wierd.
the ear is a bit too far away but that doesn't really bither me. i was just looking for another thing to bug on

other than this - it's good. like. show us more soon, man.

--Thanks for the comments. I agree that the lip is 3/4 but the rest is nearly profile, next chance I get I'll fix that lip (because now that I notice it, its driving me nuts!). I'll be posting more art soon . . .
