I couldn't sleep last night and got up around 3 or so and started drawing this, had a photo reference. I left it for a while and went over it tonight in charcoal, which I've never used before (it shows). I think it's mostly just the hair and her left arm I screwed up.

-"it appears to be some sort of a congregation..care for some gopher?"
-"I can't wear a turtle neck. It's like being strangled by a really weak guy. Like, if you wear a turtle neck and a backpack, it's like a midget is on your back choking you."
-"As the profecies foretold, he becomes president, builds a rocket suit, and all this bad shit happens."

Ah, Virginie Ledoyen. She's also featured in cosmetics ads.Lovely.
It doesn't look like Virginie.
You need to work on the likeness.
Her eyes don't seem to be aligned properly to the way her is tilted.
The right shoulder, the part that connects to the body is off. Particularly the shadow there that's a bit to the left should be moved a little to the right. The left arm looks bulgy.
Her left wrist needs working. It looks like a bump there.
Refer to the original photo again and look at your work a few more times and you'd be able to spot the areas that need further improvements. It always works for me.
Draw imaginary straight lines across the original picture at certain parts. Such as a straight horizontal line across the chest, and use the line to determine how and where the arms are placed in relation to the chest area.
I hope my critiquing didn't sound harsh.

We'd be able to critique it better if you posted the photo ref also. |
