VERy cool. almost photorealistic. I love how you used reflected colour. Now if you could just add some eyes to fill the void, that'd be cool That is, if you want. It's creeping me out.
my fav part is the stubble. VERY well done. Doesn't look overdone or too cartoony.

Oh MAN that self-portrait has... attitude!! Extremely cool. 100% thumbs up. And don't look at me that way please. hehe
mouth, nose, expression, lighting... man it's a really nice painting. Also the foreshortening is good. The whole thing just works.

wow man. May I kiss you? That's really freaking cool d00d. I quite like the look that you gave your skin. Almost like clay, has a lot of depth and feeling. Nifty what you did with the eyes (them not being there and all...) Thumbs up, up, up, way up!

GREAT complicated pose, from angle to expression. The stubble would have to be my favorite, it just looks very convincing.
My suggestion (just me would be to bring out that rosey light coming from our left. Righ now it's a bit dark.
That can simply be done by adjusting the picture's Curves...the lighting has a little more attitude now, while still remaining subtle...
here's what I mean:
Now that I look at this, I think it would have to depend on the monitor's gamma settings to look right....(argh)
Oh well, just my 1 cents

Wow, thanks for all the kind replies, means alot coming from this forum, so many talented artists. I'm glad you guys liked it. I put some time into it- mostly staring at it, as I tend to get lost that way. I may even spice it up a little, who knows, I'm going to let it rest for a while. Also, I did it all in PS using a bunch of different brushes.
Again, thanks for all the positive feedback. |

I think that is superb, and i agree with some of the others. i.e it being nearly photo realistic. I thought maybe it was one 'til I looked again. My only crit, is the ears, they look kinda fat in the middle. But that's just me..i await more!
