This pic started out when I wanted to do a paintover test of some extra stuff onto a 3D render. I'm still working on the model so I was wondering how she'd look with a vest, fatter boots and gear without having to model it.

Well, after some strokes I started touching up other parts, lighting her skin slightly different, etc and in the end I just fully painted her. I'm no kickass Photoshop artist so this took me some 6 hours

Here's the pic:

and here the base render

Hope you like it

That's really nice. I like the face and jacket from the painting, but I like the boots on the 3D model better.

Cool! Hip! Proportions come off not being highlighted quite right in the painting, but hey if you're not that good with Photoshop then it's quite a step forward

Pretty cool. the proportions look wierd though. like the heads too big, unless its on purpose. its more noticeable in the painting

What happened to the white?! Looking good though. Arms and torso area a bit stubby but i suppose thats the angle.

stuff from the picture I'd like to see on the model:
slimmer eyes
body paint
jacket
bigger cargo pants with more stuff in them
shinier lips
not-green socks

other things:
I'd like messier hair (more loose-on-purpose strands, like the two she already has - possibly at the bun at the back of her head)

Thank you all.

I still have troubles finding the right colors (like for skin) but always learning
Spent around 6h for it, not included sitting on my bum staring at the monitor, scratching head about what to do next.

Conor: I like the size and color of the painted boots but the form of the CG ones. Guess I'll combine.

Travis: Hehe, I know. Grmblll, stupid hightlights

Sumaleth: *looks around* Where, where?
I love Mikael's work but the color choice has been around for several weeks now.

Baka: She's supposed to be a little cartoon like, more along the lines of francobelgian comics than american or japanese: cartoonish but not too much so...

EviLToYLeT: You mean the color schemes I posted a while back? LOL, I ripped out a handful of hair when I read so many people liked the plain, b/w render above the colored ones
Yeah, she might be a little stubby. Damn, gotta model more. Thanks for pointing that out.

AlieN: I aggree with all! But slimmer eyes means reworking my 30 morphtargets, baggier pants means harder setting up envelopes for animation. She does have strains of hair in the front but you can't see the because of the perspective. More airy hair would be great but they are a bitch to model/texture/animate

But I'll definatly at least try out all of the above.

Thanks all again! Back to work.

hey man good stuff!.but arent her arms a lil short?. ...( shouldnt be hard to fix since they dun got no morph targets.. )
keep in mind that hands and feet should be drawn about 10% larger than they actually are.
i think that should carry over to cg as well.
