I posted this a little while ago in random musings, it (hopefully) looks a bit better now. It was done in Illustrator for a mate of mine's record label, this'll be on business cards, letterheads, record bags etc.
I'm still gettin the hang of Illustrator so it's not perfect. Any tips you guys (and girls) may have would be greatly appreciated.
How do you get rid of these white outlines would be a start!

I dunno about that thick line where it curves, it makes it look like it comes to a point there. I think u might wanna taper of that line in the middle so it doesn't actually connect, although I don't know how that would look either, so u don't have to take my advice |

Hi. I like the illustration, well done.
As far as the crap on the side of transparent gifs, the best way to get rid of them is to match the background color of the image with the background color of the web site. The Sinjun forums's cells all have the same blue-grey color. This will enable it to be anti-aliased over the background.

I think it rocks and the dragon is great, but the star looks really unproportioned and weird... try plucking a star out of a dingbat or freeware stock set

Obviously he has, since .gif is a bitmap format.

Cheers for the advice guys, I'm glad you like it!
Spit: I did try to use an equilateral(?) star but it never looked quite as good as the sketch I did at my mates house, in the end I just decided to use the hand drawn one.
Now I've just got to make sure the printers can use it *fingers crossed*
(edit) you can see this one a bit better (the blue thing isn't part of the design)

Some things...
Make sure your colors are Pantone and matching your monitors profile so they wont come out weird when printed.
Make sure all fonts and outlines are converted to vector coordinates so they cant be changed by another computers settings.
Make sure you send out the right file and not your "Sarah Michelle Gellar And Me"-photomanipulations.

spit, sorry, my bad.
Have you tried it in .bmp format, which is the only thing you print letterhead shits with.

We usually printed screen shirts directly from .AI and transfer shirts from .AI to .TIFF output. In vector case that is, when the base material is a bitmap it's allways .TIFF or a flattened .PSD if everything happens locally.

May be, but the company we do alot of letterhead logo work for, and our own letterhead machine/stamp machine etc etc, only does bmp files... don't ask me why tho
