This is very cool looking though. Perhaps you could define the area under her nose a little more? Like make the nostrils and little more noticeable? And the eyebrow on the left looks like it could scoot it's way in a little bit more.

I like her eyes, looks like she's got an animal side to her. The only thing that bothers me is the nose and that it needs more definition.

I tried a few additions/changes - hope you don't mind. Made the nose and mouth a little more defined and sharpened the cast shadows a little. I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve with painting faces, so these changes might not be perfect.

Tried to fix it up. applied Franci�s lighting. Looks tons better. Also tried to make it look more diseased. Still a hermafrodite though.

huh??...nono...shes like one freaky chik....im on a 56k modem...it got stuk after it loaded the eyes....i got scared and ran away from the computer....she actually looks like a cave woman in your first post simon =)

Hey, cool!

I do have some suggestions for your dilemma, tho. I like the first pic better because of the mouth. the under-definition of the bottom lip (the way it fades into the face) really is ashen, which you gotta remember, both old people and dead people have hardly ANY color in their face, especially their lips.

Furthermore, though I suppose the bottom on it more defined, the upper lip is a little TOO on the dark side. Ergo, looking more alive.

As for coloring. The lips in the first one, with that reddish area surrounding the lips, really makes the ghoulish come out. Try adding this back into your current version, completely pale out the lips, and add the reddish around the eyes and the eye sockets.

As for your hermaphrodite complaint, try curving the eyes a little more. They're a little boxy, and a little lash-lacking. That might help. Just suggestions. ;} I like your work. This is really sweet. She's just too flushed. Maybe a little blue in the lips?...
