Congrats you call her your girlfriend at the begining of the post but now she's your fiance. So you must've popped the question while writing this.

Nice drawing. I don't know about the getup but hey! you never know when you'll have to tear off a strip. Of course she could just carry around some bandages in a ruck sack. Are you sure she's not a mummy?

LoL, I always alternate between g/f and fiance just because I'm not sure if "betrothed" applies literally. I mentioned that she could just carry a roll of gauze or something, but this is the design she wanted. I think its definitely not what we're used to seeing in traditional healer characters, so I'm into it. I did mention the ruck sack though...women...

Neat drawing.. what is with her left hand though? I'd like to see someone do some cool colors on this pic too.

Tell me you're teasing me, dude. You could VERY well PUT awesome colors on this, LOL. As far as her hand goes, I am not afraid to admit that i do not truly know how to draw hands yet. There are certain fundamentals I've heard, but I haven't studied them yet. They are next on the list though. In fact, the study will be extensive, and I'd like you to comment on all future hands posted. The reason I haven't gotten to them is because other things were more of an issue..certain things that even MAD!'s hands wouldn't have salvaged. Now, while I'm trying to gain a full understanding of those things, I'll begin my study on hands..I've been telling that to all of my friends too.

Its funny, no one cares about your hands when your eyes are completely misaligned, or the anatomy is distractingly bad, but now it seems I'm starting to narrow these things down a bit. Thanks for the comments.

You ink it, and I'm down with colors. Some examples of stuff I've done:
http://entropy.ice.org/images/susieQ-eoe_large.jpg
http://entropy.ice.org/images/mermaid_eoe.jpg
http://www.resonancemultimedia.com/rain_large.jpg

I've got a few others, but haven't posted them yet.

No chance I could get a hirez (150+ dpi @ ~2000x5600px) It just makes go faster than a little 72dpi window.

D&D sketch I did for my girlfriend. Its not an actual "finished piece" or pinup, just a normal sketchbook sketch smudged on with the 3B lead

I apologize to the mods for accidentally posting this in the "work in progress" section, I'll try to remove it before any harm is done.

I like it a lot
I also play D&D, and she looks like a wizard, but it will be interesting to know more about the character
And a colored version will rock

Real nice piece.
I like the pose and what she's wearing is different. I wouldn't mind seeing a coloured version too.
The only thing D&D I've ever been into is the cartoon.

*Very* cool, yet another(when will it stop) great artist comes to the forum.
-Perhaps darken up some lines here and there for just a tad more definition.

Welcome and enjoy

I'm glad you guys liked it. I actually have an inker working on it, he's a pro so the job should be top notch. After he inks it, I'm going to post up and hope that the great colorists on the message boards I frequent are inspired to finish the job.

Lukias:I know what you mean about darkening the lines, and I'm not making excuses, that's not my style. All the same, this isn't a finished piece of art, its really just a sketch. Usually I don't even sketch this tight, but when I was done, my girlfriend went around erasing all of the little lines since it was her character :P. When I do finished work, its on Bristol and done with a 3H or 2H lead. I'll post some tightened stuff up here soon, but they'll be sequentials.

As for the character herself. Its my fiance's design, so here's her description "She's a healer, and at some point got tired of tearing good gowns in emergency situations. Now she wears a leather skirt with strips of cloth sewn and wrapped around it so that she can tear off a piece at will. She wears a silver belt with that holds her herbs(pouch) and wooden vials of various medicines.

Thanks for the responses I hope to hear more. Crits welcome, by the way.

Vesuvius: You are the FIRST person to actually tag on one of my influences accurately. I've been called George Perez, LeSean Thomas and some other guys that I've never even heard of. J Scott's approach to gesture and method of simplifying the face are two of my main inspirations, thanks!

Whoa! These boards are impressively active, thanks for all of the responses, guys. Epoch, I looked at some of the stuff you posted and I can't WAIT for you to color the pic. Turbo, I haven't seen your colors yet, but I'll scour the site for them when I get the chance, definitely before I post up the inks. I haven't spoken to the inker yet and I didn't go to work today on account of catching up on the last three weeks of wrestling =D. The inks should be posted up by Wednesday the latest, and if he's not done already, I'll get some Microns and trace it myself! Though honestly, I'm not an inker(except Flash digital) and he could do a really good job, so I hope he's done with it.

N8, there is actually a leather skirt kind of garment that all of those are attached to, and I assume she resews some more wrapping on whenever it starts to run low. By the by, the inked version should have a link next to it of a larger file, hopefully 200 dpi.
