You just might end up looking like an idiot instead of scaring anyone. In other words, here's my take on the vampire topic.
And this is another take on the 'bird on branch' subject, trying out a lot of colors.. just thought i'd share even if I'm still working on it. :]
Crits? I'd like to hear anything about the bird. (Sad expression intended).

Wheeeeee...
I like the bird. Though you sould change the background color to something else, and where does that light come "center of that shadow on its breast"?
Anyway, exellent work.. again..

Great work.
I love the backlighting on the first picture. the light playing through the leathery wing on the left was excellent as well.
The little bird is very nicely done too. Same question as Totuus about the light in the middle of the shadow on the breast.
The subjects of both your pieces look very sad, though. Nicely captured expressions in both cases. |

Man, you always do incredible work, the subjects you paint may not always be my bag, but you definitely have a great understanding of light, and if I don't say it enough, you do great work.
I really like the bird's eye.

:)
I kind of liked the bird BG, was gonna break it up with some texture, but leave the basic green dominant. The light must be coming from some other-than-sun source, duh :) probably from a broken mirror hanging in the tree.
Chalker: flat in what way? I'm struggling with anatomy so this is something of interest. Can't spot it myself.
Back to painting the bird. Got some oil paintings to post, where the hell are all the people with digi cams when you need them??

High quality indeed
now a crit; there's something funny about the face. Looks like it's rotated but the head, neck isn't. Anyone else see that?
Could be a perspective thing, could be an anatomical thing, could be I'm nuts. Oh well, just testing my eye.
It's really cool though, and the bird too
