Please bear with me. This is one of my first Photoshop paintings (actually, i dont do much painting period) and it was done with a mouse (a good one, but still...). I know the arm part of the wings need work, but i got tired. Please Critique

Since it's a fantasy pic, I don't think I can comment on the anatomy.


It just got me thinking, should'nt the moon light illuminate his skin a little?

yeah, i know the anatomy at least in the arms suck.
i tried that, but the way i was doing it made it look kind of flat.

looks to me that the moon is the clouds filter, but curved with the polarize (?) filter. hmmm.

Just a few suggestions:
Don't worry about the detailing. You need to work on the anatomy and try to put a bit more planning and ideas into the characters pose. And a much more dramatical lightsetting and contrasts, I think...

the_monkey: Close. It was the cloud filter, then the diference cloud filter a few times, then spherized and layered over a yellow circle, i think with overlay.
Are you saying thats bad?

Joachim: True, i probably wasn't thinking of the light setting too much, but i think the only place where the anatomy is really a problem is the musculature in the arms. maby im wrong.

I got a scholarship from Monobushio (japanese government).they are going pay me to study japanese for a year and computer animation for two. I dont know much japanese, so its going to be.... interesting(i had to look up doushite and even naze)
