Im trying to draw a face everyday, and wince its the weekend i can spend more time and do colors and thing like i did for brad pitt yesterday

here is today's one

guess who he is

and if it may interest anybody here is my progress, tutorial-like

crits and comments welcome like everytime

Its likeness is amazing. Good job.

Good idea to lay down some kind of a palette right on your image. I never thought of that. From this time gonna use the same technique.

It's Michael Douglas, right?

Everything's great, except for his upper lip -- the area just above it (and under the nose) has no definition at all, and looks really flat. Plus, you totally left out that little dip thing in the middle, you know?

Anyway, that's the only thing, really!

Yeah, it's the lucky bastard who ended up with Catherine Zeta Jones.

I'm in agreement with his Philtrum being non existant(that is the actual name of that little dimple below the nose and above the top lip).

That is really all I noticed that is a little odd.

well yes its douglas

yes now that i look at the pic again it is really obvious that the part under the nose is really crappy

i will correct it

thanxs for the crits, these days for training i am trying to paint faces and get the important features right in short amount of time (i spend about 1 hour on this one), its hard to quickly draw the features that will make the drawing looks like someone.
I know these pics are a bit boring, but all the crits i can get help me to improve

I can tell it's him but the general shape of the head needs to have a stronger likeness, this is accomplished by being more prescise with how your angles sit relative to eachother, try checking the angles and distances with your stylus

That's a michael douglas from the game if I ever saw one! Doesn't he have a bit more pertruding (?) lower lip tho? My memory keeps claiming that 'tis so, but I'm probably wrong.

Very nice work tho

Yep! Same thing for me : Michael Douglas for sure... But I want to insist too on the upper lip. It need some lighting work!
