So, here is a picture I've done a some time ago. There is always one point that bothers me in this picture : the ground

Does someone could explain some tricks to give more texture to this ground.

By the way, the whole picture was made on Photoshop with a wacom tablet ( no scan ). The theme is "Tom Bombadil meeting with the hobbits"

I really can't help you with the texture, but i think the ground is way to blurry..

Why don't add some more grass(?)....

You can draw some short grass on a small rectangular area of the pic and later copy it and paste, paste, paste all the way to fill up the area.

That's what I did with one of my pics that needed lots of grass.

Try some tall grasses in the foreground, and a few rocks, and a twig or two, and some leaves that fell out of the tree, and... Well, you get the idea. Ground tends to have more stuff on it, especially under trees. You need a bit more of a transition between the grassy area at the base of the tree and the flat area, at the very least.

Apart from that, jolly good show on the lighting, and I love the face on the tree. Do post again when you've tinkered with that foreground....

So I think that 'detail' is the word that should guide me.

I really like the idea of adding grass, leaves and other thing to give more texture!

Thanks also for the comments on the lighting and the tree face. I really appreciate !
