Bizarde, could you be more specific about the shadow issue?

Looks good. Maybe some more light from below? It seems there is some indicated in that green .. cloud? from below but more highlights would help it stand out. Just my $0.02 |

cool. different to a lot of stuff we see around here. Nice environment. I like it.
Other than that already picked up by others... Is that tunnel covered in glass? Cause it looks like you inteded it to be, but It hasn't really worked. Perhaps some sort of reflection on the surface of the glass.
helps??

Is there any way you can change it so that it doesn't kick so much ass?
...just a thought.

Wow, thanks Mike.
Everyone: I'll work on the glass thing...I'm a little sick of this piece right now, though.
Thanks for the comments! |

Thanks for the effort, Bizarde. I was envisioning the light to be a lot more diffuse, however. It's a rainy day, and the sun isn't really shining.
As far as the glass tunnel issue, I took a poke at making it work. Successful?

Yeap, but i noticed a very strong source of light which came straight from the camera... oups, i'm still around?!
i still don't feel the rainy weather, maybe some strong highligts will help, i don't know.

Just a thought:
Right now it looks like a scene with a few rain drops falling down in front of the camera. You should make objects in the distance blend more to the background because of the humidity & rain drops in the air. ...fog.
Other than that, I like the picture overall, and also liked the highlights bizarde added to make the surface seem wet. Even if you want the lighting to be diffuse, wet surface tends to have pretty sharp highlights, maybe not as much as bizarde added.
Not sure what to do about the tunnel, maybe a little more reflection to imply there's glass in there.

Prettttttyyyyy. Did you use any 3d model for reference? (the perspective is almost PERFECT).. Very impressive.
The Getup kids are one of the cooler bands in existance right now (and juliana theory).
Ohyah.

I really did have to stare at this in awe for a while. I really am speechless. Okay not quite. =) Lovely texture, great mood, decent composition, flawless perspective... I do so badly wish I could create environments so well. They never do look the way I want to see them when I try.
I hate to admit I'm not crazy about the shade of green for the smog in the background, it seems too saturated in contrast to the rest of the pic, but I suppose it could work here if I stretch my mind a little more (ooowwww).
I'm just glad you didn't decide to put big chunks of icky stuff in the sludge. =)

Thanks, everyone!
Paqman, Get-up Kids rule, and I love Juliana Theory as well!
Yes, I used 3D as an aid in the perspective.
I just didn't feel like laying it all out by hand, and I was inspired by what vortx had done using the same technique..
Shardik, this piece actually started out as a marker rendering that I wasn't happy with(disgusted with, actually). So I decided to mess around with it in PS. I hesitate to show this, but since you asked...
Thanks again to all who took the time to tell me what they thought...all very helpful! |

DUDE,
It's nice to see you moving your concepts into Photoshop, even if just to play around a little. You can quickly bring a vignette from marker sketch to rendered reality. Everyone keeps picking on your 'glass' tunnel. I, for one, didn't see it as a glass tunnel. And I definitely wouldn't add so much flair to the highlights as previously suggested. Remember, you started the piece with a feeling-an essence, if you will, in mind for the environment. If you add to much glitter, you could lose the balance you have going. AWESOME piece, man...a huge step from your previous work! And I'll get to say I knew ya before ya became famous!
